I’ve just logged into my ShopTo account to see if there had been any updates about when I can expect my Series X (there hasn’t :() and have noticed that they need people who have a console (PS5 or new Xbox) thats confirmed for day one to pay for it by the 31st of October, not sure how many of you ordered through ShopTo but thought I’d post here anyway.

Please can you fix the 5 in the thread title as it's too far from the PS and it's triggering me and I'm not even joking! ........ :|

Maybe a silly question but I assume the PS5 will be boxed with a proper 4K HDMI cable and not just a bog standard HD only cable?

I don't think Sony have confirmed this, I think it's probably a definite. IGN Xbox editor Ryan McCaffrey in a livestream yesterday said the Series X comes with one and he told viewers, whether they have a Series X or PS5, to use the cable that comes in the box precisely for that reason.

I don't know how I managed that.

I wonder which mod changed it to 'P S5'.

Okay, thanks for letting me know. I'd be really surprised if it came without one but didn't want to be disappointed!

Received a couple of emails from Amazon confirming that the PS5 accessories have been brought forward to the 12th November instead of the 19th. I’m guessing this is being done by Sony and the retailers to alleviate pressure on delivery drivers.

It's gonna be a hard week having a controller, game and no console.

Someone took the time to translate a lengthy tech interview with the gentleman doing the PS5 teardown:

It just says “HDMI cable” in several articles so it’s most likely to be the bog standard HD cable.

The HDMI cable they packaged with the PS4 Pro was properly rubbish - mine kept cutting out and failing to "handshake". You'd be in the middle of driving a car and then suddenly "oh gooseberry fool, the screen's gone black!". It would then come back on 3 seconds later only to find you'd driven off a cliff. :x

Swapped it out for a Sony branded one and it was fine after that.

It should really be shipping with an 8K cable, so if they haven’t at least included a 4K one I’d be really surprised

I'm still using that cable. I thought it was a problem with the machine :shifty: .

It shouldn't be shaking hands these days anyway :x .

Being a bit thick, admittedly, but can anyone suggest a decent - correct spec - HDMI lead for a 4K TV, a PS4 Pro & then the PS5 please?

It's definitely the cable, I had the same issue before I changed it for a much better one.

In theory any HDMI 2.1 cable will suffice, the picture quality will be the same on all of them. If it’s poorly made (as the one provided with the PS4 Pro appears to be) it’ll simply keep losing connection or worst case scenario not work at all. Basically all those on Amazon when you search “HDMI 2.1 cable” under 20 quid should be fine.

Surely they should supply the cable though and not skimp out on a poor quality one :shifty:
