I did find this, though...

The LEDs were dear to thee, I see.

All the fins and and stuff could be ideas they could partially implement on the console proper, to help with cooling/eliminating jet engine mode. I hope.

Nah, they're not fins, they're slots to hold all your game cases.

The fins are a efficent way to consume all the mice needed to power it.

So much for me using reasoning to deduce the truth!

But... if he works for Codemasters wouldn’t he be breaking an NDA?

Why the dev kit may be shaped as it is:

Someone on ResetEra wrote:It’s a stackable dev kit. The v-shaped vent is to allow for much more airflow in the front even if another system is stacked on top.

So, yeah, look at the front sections of the bottom and top of the console. (In above, the front is at the back.) Bottom of console has feet; top has indents shaped just like the feet. PS4 Pro dev kit has a similar thing going on but that's just a rectangular box. (See previous page.)

Sony: PS4 merely sounded like an engine. Let's make PS5 both sound *and* look like one!

It kind of looks like a VR Helmet.....

PS5 console is actually a VR Helmet with the system built in

I know it's failed before but as we're likely to get mid-gen refreshes is this now time for upgradeable consoles?
Maybe the upgrade could be in the form of a box similar to the breakout box for PSVR?

Why would they want to do that when enough people are willing to shell out for a while new console every couple of years?

One good thing about next gen is that at least we aren't going through another change in TV resolution this time so nobody who's bought a TV in the last few years should feel left behind and not getting the full experience.

Yeah, this. 8k can strawberry float right off for at least ten years. 4k is plenty.

What do people expect with backwards compatibility with PS5?

Was thinking about all the big games coming next year, Cyberpunk for example, that will likely be a cross gen game. Will the PS4 version be compatible AND get a next gen patch to match a PS5 version or will it get a separate PS5 release?

I think they will resell it as a ps5 remastered title rather than offer a patch. Ps4 games should work on the ps5 without any issues.

I think recent first party games may get free or super cheap next gen upgrades to flesh out the first year content but everything else will be normal full price remasters.
