Sucks doesn’t it :( I am working from home tho so I might be able to squeeze time with the PS5 during the day if it’s quiet haha

I hope Sony tinker with and patch the BC capabilities of the PS5 so that all games run without issues (I hear the older Ass.Creed titles have issues) and then go one step further and let us use our PS3 discs on the system, even if it’s just the ones from PSnow, let me insert the disc I have for a PS3 and then get access to the download version or something.

Also, they need to add folders or give us more personalisation of the home pages for Games.

WFH tomorrow.

I had annual leave Thursday/Friday so I'll be mega busy tomorrow with no time to play before home time.

Hopefully I can wake up at 4am again for a cheeky final session before work resumes.

Was about to quit Spider-Man mid-mission because I had no idea how long was left, hit the PS button. The activity card says there’s only 10 mins left. So I continue. Wrap it up in just over 5.

That’s a great feature when the devs use it.

Sorry been a mad busy weekend! I managed to recover the console after work Friday and finished astrobot over the weekend

Installed Spiderman but I had the black screen again and seemed to have had to install that again but I have it all back now and plan to start that this week!

Played more of Godfall tonight. Unlocked all but 3 of the character skins and in the last of the three worlds. It's good fun but very repetitive. Only found 3 legendary weapons so far but I think that's to do with playing on a lower difficulty.

Wish my image sig would work

The hint videos have been really handy for bits in Demon's Souls I've forgotten. There was one hint video that was for EXACTLY the bit I was stuck at.

Couldn’t get past the log-in page on COD at all today. Apart from Tony Hawks that had like 1 level on the disc (coincidently another Activision release), I’m trying to think of another game that has such an utterly useless physical release. Without an internet connection and operational servers their end, the game is completely useless.

When I finally manage to get through this supposed 5 hour Campaign, I shall put this on eBay this week with great relief.

PSVR adapter arrived today. Was getting a bit worried as they emailed it was on its was on the 13th.
All of my VR stuff is on an external HDD so I’m reluctant to try it out until Sony confirm using it isn’t going to be an issue via a patch.

GamersNexus have done their usual thing of testing a system for its cooling potential and noise performance if anyone is interested.

Seems the takeaway is that it's not too bad on the whole. Sony could do with revisiting the cooling solution though to get better performance, some of it on the internals, but perhaps externally as well by running the fan faster or redesigning the case to have slats over the fan intake/exhaust.

I asked about the videos in the DS thread but got no replys directly relating to my question. Maybe you could help answer my queury.:

I saw them briefly on Giant Bomb, where they were very critical, but I’m not sure if they were judging them on that basis (ie guidance rather than combat tips).

Interested in your take on this.

Yeh I thought I'd have to get a refund and wait for new stock! Amazon chat kept trying to palm me off to a Sony helpline so I guess they have no stock for swapsies. I managed to get it working again thanks to a reddit post someone posted here. This thing needs some stability updates!

I haven’t played much yet but the vids I’ve seen are more around “watch out for these enemies” and “here’s how to approach this encounter”. But it being right at the beginning it makes sense that it would be just covering the basics. The first stage is pretty linear.

The Astrobot videos are legitimately great, though, for finding the collectibles. They know the context of what ones you got already so you only see hints for what you need, and for the harder to find ones they’ll often not go the whole way to show you exactly where the collectible is and how to get it, but just show you “there’s a hidden path or ledge if you look over here”.

It is a shame they aren’t available to all, but on the other hand, if authoring official guide videos is a potential additional revenue stream for developers or even existing guide writers (getting some payment for the additional work funded by PS+ subs) I suppose it’d be a reasonable way to sustain the feature.

It is extra work at the end of the day, that they don’t have to do for any other platform.
