Spiderman has seen a bit of action lately but I feel they'll need something to counter Flight Simulator on Xbox as that looks seriously amazing so hopefully an upgrade to Ace Combat 7.

Those are some really odd choices and then I realised who wrote that post.

As for PS5: Sony put some promo fluff out for CES ("See the future" or some such) and people think it's PS5 related.

Flight Simulator 2020 looks bloody amazing though.

I know flight sims aren't everyone's cup of tea but cityscapes with that much obvious effort put onto it will always look great.
It's a pretty powerful graphical showcase and Ace Combat 7 also did a good job in the graphics department and if they can nab a exclusive upgrade to PS5 I think it could look pretty special.

Yeah, I've seen it. But 1) it's not going to be a system seller, and 2) I'd rather the devs did their own thing than go through another generation of trying to ape IPs. (Like we had the gen before with Sony desperately trying to find a "Halo killer", or this gen with MS wanting their own God of War.)

And when we do see PS5 I want to see games. New games. Announced for launch release and soon after.

Flight Sim 2020 is a strange game though, I'm pretty sure it leans heavily on cloud compute for those visuals. I don't think Sony have anything that can compete...it is a pretty niche market though, I doubt they are losing sleep over being out powered in the Flight Sim genre by MS.

Yeah, fair enough I was just thinking of something to have on the looping promo shows they have in shops but that's assuming shops still do that :shifty: .
It's not a looker and is maybe not promo material but I'd love to see Microsoft show AoE4 in the promo stuff just because it'll be unusual.
I can see Sony having some kind of God of War game exclusive to PS5 as that could look seriously good and that game was out a while ago so in theory the developers should have enough time to make something and a PS5 Horizon game but I'm thinking Sony would be unwilling to make those franchises next gen only just yet as they'll both sell a shitload on PS4.

Apparently they want to shift people (or was it devs...?) on to PS5 in record time/numbers, if that's true then that'll be a great way to do it.

Feb seems to be the latest rumour for another PS5 reveal but MS or Sony could appear at AMD's CES talk next monday.

I bet the CEOs of both Microsoft and Sony sleep soundly at night, safe in the knowledge that Peter Crisp isn't in charge of their marketing

Gran Turismo (though that never makes launch) or Spider Man 2 would be my personal preferences. That or Wipeout, which also feels like a long shot.

My money too is on God of War II or Horizon II.

I'd be an amazing console head of sales :x .
I'd just have Peter Molyneux as the main speaker at all times as he never exaggerates and is 100% trusted by everyone for his gaming genius.

Bingo, 200 million sales of my console in year 1 no problem and the worlds fist £10T company :toot: .

You'd have to make sure both consoles had launch parties in the new Luton Town stadium as well. Very important that the world's gaming media knows where the epicentre of modernity is.

Well I didn't think I needed to mention that as it's such an obvious move.

The stadium should be getting the final go ahead this year as the people trying to block it had an application for a judicial review (there's been more fuss about our stadium than about strawberry floating Wembley) thrown out and they only had 7 days to appeal which should have ended by the end of the year so hopefully no news is good news.

I am not sure that Microsoft and Sony want their products associated with the “Tommy Robinson Arena”.

Not sure if it's true but I heard PS5 is compatible to play PS4, PS3, PS2 and PS1 games.

According to a new report from “HipHopGamer“, Sony is working on a Remastering Engine for the new PlayStation, which will allow PS1, PS2, PS3, and PS4 titles to all run on the console with enhancements.

The feature will apparently work similarly to how the Xbox One X handles backwards compatibility, in that the PS5 won't just run these older games, but add improvements like 4K support.

Sony has filed patents in the past that have seemingly suggested the PS5 will support backwards compatibility with every previous PlayStation console. Further, it even patented a system to add trophies to PS1 and PS2 games. In other words, it's clearly been investing in backwards compatibility technology, but for now, it remains unclear how this will manifest with the PS5.

Getting the whole lot working would be one thing, to then touch them up (especially PS1 which looks properly diabolical on a big 4K screen) would be phenomenal.

I’m not getting my hopes up.

The Sony show at CES is at 1am on Monday.

No idea if PS5 will be mentioned so not worth staying up to watch live but worth a look in the morning.
I wouldn't be surprised if we see what it looks like and some minor tech info.

I’m not sure if Sony would want it to overshadow or share space with their other products.

Maybe we could see a tech demo being played on a new Sony TV?

They're meant to be on stage with AMD... (but people who know about these things still say it'll be to do with things other than PS5.)
