You’d be well impressed with MGS2.

Is this thing going to have stability, or will they be patching it in on a weekly basis over the next five years like with the PS4?

nobody seems to question why they don't see the player character reflected in mirrors any more (even the original Duke Nukem 3D managed this!).

Two Duke 3D mentions in one afternoon?!

No pre-order or price available yet, but the console page is now up on Amazon.

I can't wait to see the price of this, it's going to bring on an internet meltdown.

There was another placeholder price in a T3 article quoting a tweet. 499 and 399 euros.

£499.99 for the disc version seems like a good shout, though I don't think Sony are going to announce the prices until Microsoft announce theirs first.

There's probably more room to go for a shockingly low price on the digital version though because they know they can claw it back on the games. If they want to charge £59.99 on the PS Store, they can. It's the old printer strategy. Blimey, a Canon printer with all these features for 100 quid?! What a bargain! 6 months later you realise the ink costs 50 quid...

I honestly wish we’d just get prices for them both!

They should both agree to announce their price at X time on Y date, this would finally end the game of who jumps first. Obviously won’t happen though

£500 for the disc version would be acceptable to me.

I was tempted to buy a switch the other day, but couldn't justify £280 + £50 a game when there's only a few games I fancy playing. There's no way I can justify £500 for this console at launch with the amount of exclusives I care about.

I miss the GameCubes launch :(

You're guaranteed at least one game sale too really with every digital console sale when you think about it.

Dunno if this was there before, but if you go to the PS5 page on Amazon, you can register your interest in the PS5 with them. (I'm guessing they'll send you an email when it becomes available for pre-order.) I'll be getting mine via ShopTo. (If the launch games impress me, which at the moment they're not.)

I've used their email notification before. It has a habit of emailing you well after a product has become available, so by the time you go look it's already sold out. :fp:

I did that with a CE release of WoW and yes, it was always sold out when I went to check on it, straight after getting the email. I'd put it down to scalpers using bots, etc. But yeah, could just be Amazon being crap.

I just wanted to point out I'm a dirty liar as I've given in to temptation and just bought a Switch as a birthday present to myself. strawberry float it.
