Are PS4 games all back compat on PS5? I guess the digital versions of those games in the new PS Plus Collection thingy are, but are all digital or disc games gonna work on PS5?

Most PS4 games are supposed to be BC, but Sony hasn’t exactly been clear. In fact beyond the games in that PS Plus trailer tonight, and games released since I think June 2020 or something like that, we don’t know what will and won’t work, and to what standard.

In the know types on Twitter have suggested this, that in fact it'll only be a very few games which won't be BC. But that obviously isn't the official word, so I wouldn't make any purchasing decisions based off it!

I can't get over the £359 for digital version as its only £10 more than the PS4 at launch! But the cheaper upfront cost would actually be a false saving fore me. Whilst I now prefer my games digitally, I will be opting for the disc version as I want to try out games that I don't want to keep and use Boomerang Rentals.

Got my pre-order in with Smyths Toys. They don't take payment until 2-7 days beforehand so nothing to lose by locking it in.

I just want a machine to play my PS4 games on that's quiet, so I was going for the digital version, but then I saw that games would be £70 so I'd rather just pay the extra £90 up front on the hardware to get better deals on software.

With most of the games moving to PC anyway, I'll probably trade most of them in when the PC version rolls around. When I think of all the possible reasons I could want this machine, I keep almost deciding I'd rather not buy one, but the allure of a quiet replacement for my PS4 is too strong.

Maybe it has more limited stock, or early adopters are all in on Digital. When they see the game prices on the PS Store though they might feel like they've gone and dropped the soap in jail...

Back in my day, new releases were £39.99 at max...Madness.

My mate us buying my 4k blu Ray player for fifty quid. Its a decent one. So I'm only playing another 40 quid for the disc one.

Sony said they wouldn't catch people by surprise with PS5 Pre Orders.
