Outriders getting a demo on February 25th, open to all and save carries over. Also this not time limited so will.be around after the game launches.

It's great when demos are like this.

Also tomorrow 3am UK time, the Guilty Gear Strive Open Beta launches for the weekend. Looks like the most beautiful fighting game ever made.

Wish my image sig would work

Just had an email from ShopTo offering me the chance to preorder Returnal for sixty-five pounds.

With the high software prices and the lack of consoles, it doesn't really feel like the console has properly launched to me, tbh.

I’ve forgotten my SimplyGames login but I’m on their mailing list. I’ll register interest when I get an email from them trying to sell me stuff, I guess.
Kinda had the desire sucked out of me now so I think I’m not going to bother looking about the internet like a madman.

This is the best of way of nabbing one if you're sick of going about looking for one; they'll come to you, when they have stock and it's your turn.

Yeah...like I say, I’m ambivalent about it all now. Wouldn’t mind one before RE8 in May(ish?) but...still can’t see it being an aggro-free process.
Will register anyway, thanks for letting us know SoK.

What's the general thinking on the digital version of the console? Could it end up being one of those launch window ideas that gets quietly shelved or do we think it likely to be restocked down the line?

Difficult to say with Sony. But even if it got discontinued, given the fact at heart it's the same console as the disc version, I assume it'd continue to get updates and everything else the disc version got.

Astro's Playroom. Definitely, it will show you what the DualSense is all about.

Sackboy A Big Adventure - I loved it. A brilliant platformer game.

No chance. Digital console sales guarantee PS store purchases and maximum profit.

Haven't checked myself, but apparently the Disney+ app update the other day finally adds 4K https://www.psu.com/news/disney-plus-3- ... ps5-users/

EDIT:, nope, they're using some bullshit redditor as a source who was wrong

EDIT2: there's a newer update and the option is definitely there now.

I'm experiencing drift on my controller for this first time. Only happens in the menu screen of Control at the moment. Left stick is drifting to the left.

It’s such a shame to read about these drift issues. The controller functionality sounds like a strong reason to pick up a PS5 right now, and to hear all these problems surfacing does dampen my motivation to pick one up. That being said I have only had a problem with it once or twice on my switch, and it was resolved with contact cleaner (I have now retired said joy cons for Hori split pad pro).

It will be interesting to see how rampant the issue is compared to Nintendo’s. I have more faith in Sony support (possibly unfounded).

Was stick drift a problem in previous generations? It seems like something I've only begun hearing about in the last couple of years.

It's the bumpers/triggers that always go bust on my controllers, dating all the way back to the PS1. There was a little piece of plastic on R1/R2/L1/L2 that kept breaking on the Dual Shock 1 and 2. There was another piece of plastic on the Dual Shock 3 trigger that was prone to snapping, and most recently the trigger on the Xbox One X controller started to get stuck (making accelerating an issue on racing games).

The build quality on the Duel Sense feels much better to me than previous Sony efforts post-1998 (Sony's plastic creaked).

It's possible DS4 did have drift issues, but my issues with it were all trigger/spring related. Though they also suffered from a pretty large dead zone. (How far you have to move the stick before it registers in game.)

ifixit explain why DualSense sticks are drifting:

(They use the same shitty components as last gen/every other console manufacturer.)

I've owned almost every console since the 16-bit era, and never had a problem with a controller until drift issues on the Switch, and now the PS5.

Are people using the sleep mode? I heard that its had issues

I always use it on my PS4 to charge the controller and download updates and upload saves.
