I keep running out of ammo. I've ditched playing it for now as its too much aggro to respawn with little ammo when there's 20 or so Hell beasts by me

That runs out of oil/gas too quickly. Hardly ever find any gas/oil to replenish

Yea but you only need to use it once and you have an instant massive ammo resupply.

Try to use gore kills to save some ammos and it's pretty useful.

Oh believe me I do use gore kills. Loads. But it's getting the bigger monsters health down sufficiently to get them glowing. I've really enjoyed the game so far but the shortage of ammo is affecting my enjoyment a little. Maybe I need to upgrade my ammo trait a bit more

I upgraded ammo to max before I touched health and armor. Also, remember that chainsaw kills will more often than not completely replenish all ammo.

Nice.

There is a rune stone which make you receive more ammos from the enemies.

Finished on hurt me plenty, found all the collectibles except one codex for the cyberdemon which I think may be glitched, and one of the Doom classic levels(I found the lever but not the door, it shut when I accidentally went to the next section and couldn't be arsed going back). Missing two challenges and four secrets.

It's strawberry floating fantastic, isn't it? Hardcore, run and gun, punishes you for stopping, insanity. :D

I've stopped playing it. It got too 'rinse and repeat' for my liking....

Did anyone here play the demo, not enjoy it but then go on to play the full game and found it to be much better? Demo put me off from trying it...

Like i found the early missions were the worst because you only had a couple of weapons and the enemy variety was low, but i could also imagine being dropped into a later level would be a bit overwhelming because you wouldnt really have clicked with the gameplay yet either. For me the game was perfect played from start to finish because it started you weak and built you up with each map until you were a walking death machine by the end

It's the whole of the first level. They made it available for E3 week but it'll now be up indefinitely. I er, actually didn't even complete it :slol: but will give demo another bash, and will probably play full game even if continues to leave me unimpressed.

I played the demo last week and really liked it! Favourite part was when he smashed the exposition robot and just got on with killing demons. Unimpressed with the visual design of the whole thing, though. Everything looked so similar. It reminded me in a way of the Bay Transformer movies in that you can't tell the characters apart, all you see is metal flying around on screen, but replace the metal with redish-brown monsters.

If its just the first level then yeah, definitely dont judge it based on that. You dont have any of the most fun weapons, the enemies are all weak, the map design isnt as good, seriously the opening coupel of levels are easily the weakest part of the game. By the end of the game youre double jumping around Quake 3 arena style multi tiered massive maps headshotting barons of hell with a rail gun and quite possibly doing a 360 noscope. Trust me, the game starts slow, but gets incredible.

Yep. I really didn't like the first level and it's limited encounters. I enjoyed how fast everything was but was completely uninspired by the enemies and mechanics. So many different things to collect, so many different XP point systems...

Cut to 10 hours later and I'm pirouetting around Hell with a railgun, smashing zombie arms into zombie heads, chainsawing the gooseberry fool out of Barons of Hell and hopping around the place like some mad General Woundwort.

It's strawberry floating ace.

That's how I felt toward the end. I just dropped the difficulty so I could get it over with.,

Jesus, pardon me for echoing the sentiment of someone that has gone against the general consensus. I'll be sure to fall in line with everybody else in future.

In your opinion, not mine. It's repetitive and got stale and boring.

I guess the very nature of the game is that there are a fuckload of enemies, and you have to kill those enemies. I stopped it from getting stale by switching up my weapons and tactics, and upgrading some of my guns to compensate. The Gauss Cannon, which I found useless when I initially got it, turned out to be absolutely incredible, even more so when I picked up the siege mode for it that allows you to fire a super powered shot, and then the upgrade to that which allows you to move around while using it.

Also, the Rune Trials have a lot of important bonuses; the Rich Get Richer one is the most important to pick up and upgrade along with armour, as it gives you infinite ammo for all your weapons bar the BFG and Chainsaw while you have 75 armour or more. Usually leads to me Gauss Cannoning demons in half during big firefights.
