I doubt it'll be the case but I hope new chracters also means new (sub)classes and or abilities. That would be a great freebie. Will release early May on all platforms.

Thanks!

Xenon the Antiquarian cordially invites you to experience the high-end shopping of your dreams… bring extra gold

This DLC also comes with two seats upon which you may place your posterior in Skyhold. If you’ve played Dragon Age: Origins with your Origin account, you’ll get the Legacy Ferelden throne. If you’ve done the same with Dragon Age II, you’ll unlock the Legacy Kirkwall throne.

Also on the way is the Dragonslayer multiplayer DLC. As you might have guessed, this add-on will allow you to take on giant drakes… if you craft the Dragon’s Call. Three new characters are being added with this DLC pack. An Avvar warrior named Skywatcher and Zither the Virtuoso join the fight. Oh, and if you’re wondering that image above is who you think it is, you’ll be happy to know that Isabela is making her return.

Both DLC packs will be out on May 5, at no charge. All platforms (PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Xbox One, Xbox 360, and PC) will have access at the same time.

CD Projekt have garnered a lot of good will with their free DLC with The Witcher 3 offer, and I think a lot of players will migrate there and buy their expansion packs. Bioware/EA no doubt have some big expansions of their own so this is a move to remind people of Dragon Age, but they released an RPG without a map in the box, their sin is not forgotten.

I saw it on GAF. Sorry for not providing a link but I was on my Vita at the time and cannot copy&paste on that, though I guess I could have mentioned where I saw the news. Noted for future.

So I picked this up yesterday on a bit of a whim.

I had a hankering for some fantasy RPGing, and seeing as I couldn't get to my copy of Skyrim (still unfinished), I decided to buy The Witcher. Unfortunately it seems Japan sold out 92% of its copies in the past week, which must have included my town. Even then, it cost ¥8000 yen.

So, for ¥6000 yen I picked up AC Unity and this. I didn't even have this game on my radar and know beyond the series bar the fact that 2 was a bit of a letdown. Unfortunately the other two games don't have English language options on the Japanese disc so I couldn't play them anyway. Apparently if I read up a bit, it shouldn't matter?

Looking forward to getting stuck in, especially as I have bought it so blindly. What was the generally opinion of it on here? And for those who have played both, I haven't made a grevious error getting this instead of The Witcher?

DA:I's alright, it's probably best that you do play it before Witcher because it looks pretty weak in some areas of comparison. They're very different games, only real similarities come from the world details that Dragon Age ripped wholesale from the witcher novels (they took a lot from a lot of fantasy writing)
The plot from the other games that matters is explained to you so it's not much of an issue.

The game's got this weird pseudo-mmo structure that's present in the world design and the combat which has very little impact to each hit.

The best advice I can give is to not get bogged down in 100% clearing an area, get enough POWER to advance the main story a bit and then do it.

New DLC launching on August 11th. No exclusive nonsense this time. :D Doesn't look at pretty as the last DLC, but I suppose the Deep Roads aren't supposed to be pretty. The last DLC (Jaws of Hakkon) is currently on sale on PSN for £5.84 (£6.49 for non-PS+ members) until the 13th.

Having played both, I'd say Witcher 3 is a much better game (saying that I struggled with both) but I'm going to buy Witcher for a second time and try and stick with it this time.

Final DLC expansion apparently. :( But it does finally seem to touch upon the ending events of the first game.

September 8?! But I'll still be playing MGSV! :fp:

(...)

Furthermore, an upcoming patch will add a Golden Nug statue to your undercroft in Skyhold once you've completed the game that will allow you to keep all the schematics, recipes and tapestries you've acquired when re-rolling with another character. In fact, you won't even have to start a new game. If you have any other characters that are mid-game the Golden Nug will simply appear once the next patch is installed.

There will also be new wardrobe options with over a dozen new threads that will be available in your bedroom in Skyhold.

I completely lost all interest in this game the moment the Witcher 3 hit. I feel like checking out the new stuff but I have completely forgotten what was going on before and could not be arsed playing through the main story again. I suppose this is one argument for releasing DLC sooner rather than later.

The horse sprint was a lie!

...the game's ability to make your horse "sprint" was in fact just an illusion.

Indeed, the game simply "added speed lines and changed the camera so it felt faster", BioWare veteran John Epler has revealed.

"There were three days on that project where my entire job was 'try to make horse sprint feel faster'."

I freaking knew it!! Afrer having spent Skyrim / WoW hours on the game, I always felt the difference in mount speed was negligible / sweet fa. Good to have my suspicions confirmed.

My Mrs is currently playing this thanks to gamepass and it looks really good. Shame I passed it over when it came out really.

I saw the thread title, saw that we're on page 23... and assumed that - years later! - new DLC was arriving  .

But, hey, it's reminder that I need to try this. Sometime.
