Always used to use VGA with my Dreamcast, very crisp and all games ran at 60Hz default. Even Virtua Fighter 3 and Sega Rally 2 were at 60Hz, and the games used to just skip the select screen.

I only got a VGA cable a few years ago, so way after it came out. It prompted me to rebuy a lot of games like Daytona USA 2001, Crazy Taxi 2 and Virtua Fighter 3 and the difference is just immense. They really feel like proper arcade games. If only I knew on 14/10/09 that such a cable existed, instead I played through RFU Cable for a while before getting an RGB Scart Cable.

They're well worth getting, and the graphics look really crisp on large HDTV sets.

Not sure if Wii has anything similar like a componant cable.

My Wii is hooked up through Component and it looks okay, and there is a modified VGA Cable about but it has issues with Virtual Console games as well as 50Hz only games.

Thats it I am going to restart the first Shenmue soon, I have only completed it twice, and I want to go through it more slowly, perhaps doing more collecting this time.

I do wish people would stop blaming Sony for the Dreamcast's failure. It was Sega who had no money due to their own previous failures, and it was Sega who alienated the world's largest third-part developer/publisher at the time. All Sony did was make a console that people actually wanted.

Console manufacturers always learn the hard way that alienating third-parties never ends well.

I blame people for being thick.

Not having ONE decent football game was a magor blow in Europe :(

gooseberry fool I missed this celebration on my temporary hiatus. How I love the Dreamcast, but its now packed away probably until next summers drought. I have Shenmue 2 and JSRF (which I still have not completed) on the Xbox. I maybe recomplete the former in its English Voice Acting glory as I need to see that ending again, although I may just go on to Youtube instead if I do not do it soon.

Ah the memories. The first time I saw this in the magazines I was amazed and never thought we would see it on home consoles. The way the fabric on Aou's clothing moved and the changing snow was incredible for the time. Do you remember a little article in the free play section of CVG stating that there was a version for the saturn with an add on?

Sega really should get all their arcade games released on the home consoles now, they have enough to create their own dedicated channel.

I am just glad I got the chance to play Scud Race in the arcades. At the time I was truly blown away by the graphics especially the reflections on the rear window!

Come on sega get all your racing classics out, that includes:

Sega Rally Championship
Daytona USA
Daytona USA 2
Scud Race
Sega Touring Cars (Remember the crap Sega Saturn port?)
Manx TT Superbikes

Had a get together with friends on Christmas Eve and we played the Dreamcast. Virtua Tennis 2 was the main game, and was utterly fantastic. I honestly don't think the later Virtua Tennis games match up to the Dreamcast version of Virtua Tennis 2. Also had a fair few rounds of Rush 2049 on Stunt mode. It was fantastic, with people pulling off 10,000 point moves. The highest I ever got was around 5,000 :(.

Was brilliant to actually get people playing the Dreamcast again, as it'd been a while for everyone else. Brought back a lot of memories, and I admittedly got a bit nostalgic.

Ah, too soon Dreamcast, too soon.
