How do you get Dreamcast to play in HD? Do you have to get some kind of VGA cable or something? I'll probably just pick up scart cable next month (going to try finish off Blue Stinger) but come 2012 I may attempt to make my DC look sharper.

Unless you use an emulator I don't think you can.

With VGA you get a stunningly crisp picture though, all games play at 60hz too (the 50/60hz menu disappears from the games and even 50hz games play in 60hz).

People mod their dreamcasts so they can use VGA.

I just bought an adaptor, it's not a mod, they used to sell them in all the shops.

I've seen a mod where you make your own VGA port and put it where the internet adaptor is.

You don't have to put it where the modem was. Also, it's relatively straightforward and cheap. Parts look like they'd cost under a fiver. Although it does require some soldering skills. Dreamcasts themselves can be picked up for a pittance. I'll be having a go when I have some time.

That looks gorgeous, Microsoft should hire this guy to design the next Xbox.

(I know this post is quite old but ehh) Wow I didn't know that! That'd be great for games like Skies of Arcadia which is 50Hz only.

Seriously thinking of shifting my whole Dreamcast collection. It doesn't get played and probably never will ever again.
Anyone interested? It includes the following, plus more:

Original Dreamcast Console Boxed
2 X Controllers
3 X VMU's
1 Vibration Pack
Shenmue
Shenmue 2
Sonic Adventure
Crazy Taxi
Crazy Taxi 2
Sega Rally 2
Daytona USA 2001
GAME VGA Adaptor
Sega GT
Jet Set Radio

Sorry, have reposted this in the Trade-In section.

Damn right! Still have my dreamcast, but have no real urge to take it out apart from another shenmue playthrough, but i feel that those memories back in 1999 shall be kept there. Quite weird that shenmue was set over a decade before the game was released and we are now over a decade after shenmue was released!

Would love a remaster, but you know, i doubt we will get it, ever.

The best hope is for a fully functional emulator or someone with the time and patience to remake them for the pc, much like that re4 project.

I had some great gaming memories. Some really lonely times when i played on the dreamcast, which probably why i remember them the most. It really had it all - from great sports titles, to 3d adventures, to arcade perfect ports and then there was shenmue.

Not too sure shenmue would be appreciated by this generation tbh and maybe it is best that these games never get a rerelease to keep the dreamcasts fires burning.

All they need to do is release them on the PlayStation/Xbox store upscaled to 1080p with dual stick controls.

Rez is the best game on the list, but it wasn't ever exclusive to Dreamcast, otherwise I would have voted for it.

I loved Rez's style, but gameplay-wise it was a basic rail shooter.

It might seem basic at a cursory glance but the design and mechanics pretty much perfect, there's nothing else close.

I probably never came to appreciate the mechanics as my entire experience of the game was something like this...

Tony Hawks above Grandia 2?
No Blue Stinger?

This list is utter bullshit.
