'Consoles' is a bit too restrictive a term, if we are talking 'Gaming machines' (with the caveat that it has to be a single machine, not something that changes over the years) then...

1. Amiga 500
2. Xbox 360
3. Gamecube
4. Gameboy Advance
5. Wii U

I remember the day I got my DC. It was the first console I have ever bought on launch day and I was massively excited. I quite enjoyed Sonic Adventure when it first came out, my other game was Sega Rally which was a bit bland.

I think MSR was my highpoint but it seemed as soon as the PS2 was announced the releases dried up. I bought another DC off ebay about 5 years ago and it hadn't aged well. I remember the menu system seemed pretty good back in the day but it was a bloody mess when I went back to it!

I'll always fondly remember using it to view Internet pron in my bedroom and managed to find some lovely fake nudes of the Spice Girls!

Half of my life has gone since the Dreamcast first came out on October 14th 1999. Oh I remember that day because it was one of the few consoles I got on launch day. I got in early to the Electronics Boutique Store (now GAME) and got the console, Sonic Adventure and a VMU before school! I remember setting it up and having a quick go before heading off to school. It was a few good years of gaming, thats for sure and some of my most vivid gaming moments come from that time. Heading to HMV to pick up MSR and that free watch, getting F355 Challenge on import from CEX, playing Shenmue in the Winter months, Virtua Tennis - that feeling of playing an arcade game at home and finally Daytona USA on import again. It all ended on Shenmue 2 - I bought that at GAME for full price and enjoyed it from start to finish. Little did I know that the sequel would be announced nearly 14 years later. I don't think any single console has given me so many memorable gaming memories in such a short period of time.

I am partial to these "cult" consoles. Dreamcast, GameBoy Color*, Neo Geo Pocket, Wii U and - a tad earlier - Commodore 16 and Atari STe... I just like the idea of an underdog games machine being kept afloat by a few cool titles and a tight group of fans. Great memories!

* Yeah, the GBC sold pretty well but only enjoyed a short life.
