Something Fishy wrote:so gutted. Read it since 1977 but won't get to see it. I've decided the best way to protest them cutting out those with eye disability is to invest nothing in the film, so i'm not going to pay to see it in any way, not even a rental later. If everyone did that it would help it bomb and be a strong sign that 3d should never be the only choice.

Like I said, I don't think the issue is the studio, it's the cinema chains themselves that have taken the choice to push the 3D version at the expense of the 2D version. A far better protest would be to go and see only the 2D version at the cinema, demonstrating that it can have strong sales without the 3D.

Seeing this on Wednesday now. Was a struggle getting someone to see it in 3D though. I hate having to put glasses on glasses.

I'd imagine that they want to show it in 3D first to push up the opening weeks takings. After that it can be shunted to 3D-less screens?

Yeah we shall see.

Hope they sort it out, if they don't then it's one i'll catch when it hits film four.

I've cancelled my subs. Just not happy to see my disability one the entire movie industry is happy to gooseberry fool on for money, Rebellion support it, i can no longer support them.

Just went to watch this and it was excellent, well worth a look. Didn't get a headache from the 3D either which was a pleasant surprise.

I went and saw it.

Will be going again.

strawberry floating outstanding, they brought the comics to life, the dark humour, the violence, lots of little nods to small details in the books and Dredd himself.

Urban played him down to a tee, fantastic to watch, soo entertaining, my favourite film of the year so far.

I'm a huge Dredd fan, so I'm probably not the best to take a review from, it would be well bias, but go see it, the more that do, the more chance of getting a sequel for me to go and see :D

Went to watch this tonight and I though it was brilliant, a superb adaptation if the comic which captured the mood and the atmosphere and the character with aplomb.

It put me in mind of Pitch Black, in terms of style and mood; just raw, gutsy stuff which used a central gimmick to fab effect and which kept the story simple and was all the more effective for it. And I thought Karl Urban was just spot in for the part, he really nailed it.

strawberry floating brilliant.

I called off his players' names as they came marching up the steps behind him....All nice guys. They'll finish last. Nice guys. Finish last.

Caught this at the weekend, was absolutely brilliant. Don't really want to draw these comparisons, but that's what the US remake of The Raid needs to be like.

That bit at the start "Hot shot" :datass:

I can't imagine watching this in 2D, so many scenes are clearly shot for the benefit of 3D would seem weird.

Its not a re-make of the Raid, the story and movie were shot before the Raid, the Raid just came out first, if anything the Raid is a modern tale based on an old Dredd Prog.

1000 times better than the Raid too.

I'm fully aware. I said it's what the US remake of The Raid needs to be like, as in, future tense.

Ah okay, crossed wires, I was unaware the U.S were remaking the Raid.

Was announced shortly after the film started picking up a rep I think, but yea, Dredd is a pretty decent benchmark for all future 'stuck in a building, fight your way out' movies.

Second week and no sign of it in my local cinema. Looks like they aren't bothering with it at all in either format.
