I had that last week - I binned it in one of the wet races and was properly facing backwards with the L3 prompt in screen, but because I was moving a bit, it just wouldn't work.

I'm going to put a group PM together to a load of the previous regulars in the OP to try and tempt them across for a few races

Just received this from Sony:

Online servers for DRIVECLUB™, DRIVECLUB™ VR and DRIVECLUB™ Bikes will shut down on 31 March 2020 (at 23:59 BST). All online features (including online multiplayer modes) will cease on that date.

You will still be able to play and enjoy these games in single player offline modes. However, the games have significant amounts of online gameplay so from 31 March 2020, functionality will be affected in the following ways:

You will not be able to:

• Use your season pass online
• Represent your Club online in multiplayer events or tours
• Play online multiplayer and compete in challenges
• Create your own events
• Compete in leader boards, or share stats and player progress

You will be able to:

• Use your season pass on all single player and offline modes
• Continue to play all game (DRIVECLUB™, DRIVECLUB™ VR and DRIVECLUB™ Bikes) and DLC single player functionality in offline mode
• Earn trophies in single player/offline mode

PlayStation will cease selling DRIVECLUB™, DRIVECLUB™ VR, DRIVECLUB™ Bikes and all DLC and season passes related to those games from 31 August 2019 (at 23:59 BST).

Yes I'd imagine it's going to be a pretty regular thing. If you had the ps+ version at any point i imagine you could use that.

Mind you, it's probably available for next to nothing now anyway.

Had a bit of VR time on this at the weekend. Only got a few multiplayer games sadly as it's pretty much dead at this point.

I get why (frame rate differences I'd imagine) but it is such a shame to split the user base. Means there's No one playing it online now.

Yep, good call, Ad. I'm still surprised that the servers are gonna be turned off relatively quickly for such a big title but at least we can still play the excellent single player mode.

Is this quickly? 4 or 5 years for a single system racer seems fair enough.

Getting a race with more than 1 other person has basically been impossible for at least 18 months so it seems it’s about time.

For me, on the basis that the title was published by the platform owner, is the 17th all-time best-selling game on the system and that Sony charges customers £50 per year for online play, I do feel that this is a pretty short time.

The bare minimum should be keeping 1-2 servers running and then periodically reviewing them if there's a surge of interest where more are needed. The monitoring could easily be an automated process, as well as spinning up new virtual servers as and when.

A reminder you've got until 31st August to buy this before its gone forever.

How much is this?

£15.99 digital, but you could probably pick up a physical copy for half that. Remember if you're going to buy it to buy the season pass, as it adds a crazy amount of content.
