PostDumb ass in need of assistance (OBS advice)

So I've streamed once before and, despite the audio echoing from christ knows how many outputs (this may also require some attention) I considered it a success.

But now that I've added a new 'brb' screen to switch over to mid-cast, I've found myself unable to switch back to the game. Today's attempt consisted of said brb screen for the best part of an hour as I strawberry floated about trying to get the game to display instead and left me feeling especially incompetent.

Take a gander at this screenshot and let me know what I'm doing wrong:

You're in studio mode.

This lets you modify the scene on the left, while the scene on the right is the one being broadcast. The "Transition" button in the middle moves the scene on the left to the right hand side and makes it the "live" one.

To go back to basic mode, click "Studio mode " in the bottom right. That way you only see the scene being broadcast and choosing it from the list on the left will transition it.

Studio mode has it's uses though. If you want to edit a scene while broadcasting another it's designed for exactly that. Otherwise I stick to normal mode.

I would recommend playing about with it a fair bit. Use the recording feature to test out your settings and make sure your audio is good.

There's also a ton of tutorial stuff on youtube for OBS so check out some of that if you want to see people actually set up stuff and show you how it works.

But you should be able to figure most of it out through experimentation yourself.

That sounds...well, much more effortless than the tangle I caught myself up in. Will give this a go for tomorrow.

Thank you very much kind sir.

This also makes a ton of sense - far more reliable than just trying to wing it.

This is exactly what I referenced when setting up the additional scene(s), so I guess some details didn't sink in for me. Experimentation seems the best approach for me personally.
