What?

You can do a quick dodge move but when big Zombie swings re-enforced concrete at your face you can't really parry. You can't block as such (afaik) but you can vault over zombies, plus the majority of enemies are zombies, they dont tend to have items at hand to hit you with other than there arms...

You cant block or parry in most zombie games, I'm struggling to think of one that you can to be honest.

Thanks for impressions Cal, I'm looking forward to this unlocking on Friday, that night will be solo but saturday night will be all co-op. :datass:

Assume this still isn't unlocked on Xbox? Can't wait to get stuck in now!

It is good but as been said it suffers from some performance issues. Chrome engine so it's to be expected but at least it isn't swamped with glitches and bugs like Dead Island.

The main problem is the looting gets tedious yet it has to be done and the combat is so dull at the beginning. It takes a fair few hours till the combat stops being a trudge.

Going alone to sort out the bandits for handing out fake medicine was an exercise in getting the gooseberry fool kicked out of me. Though, the fight went on a lot longer than it should have because the combat is a little comical when you only have the dodge skill. The good thing is that you level up by doing, so you can grind out a little by just bashing zombies' heads to get some more skill points.

Night isn't scary. The volatiles are easily avoided, it's easy xp. You're going to need your partner around a lot ;)

Glowy just buy it. You get to kill zombies in many hilarious ways and the parkour stuff is decent once you get the hang of it.

I'm playing co-op with a mate and it's mega fun. Spent an hour rounding up a horde and then tossed about 13 Molotovs into them :datass:

So, I finally bought the PS4 version yesterday (via digital download). My justification for this is that I am scaling back my game purchases dramatically this year and Dying Light is probably the last of the games I have been really looking forward to (with the possible exception of The Division). Buying for both PC and PS4 represents a serious investment in a game I know I will be playing for a long time. I also have the Season Pass for the PC version and will get it for the PS4 version also.

The PS4 version seems to run perfectly - I can't see any technical issues compared to my fussy, constantly-tweaked PC version. It's hard for me to tell which is actually the better-looking version in all honesty (but bear in mind I'm not running the game on a super-mega modern gaming rig).

The more time I spend with the game, the more I seem to enjoy it. Still holding off completing main mission stuff as I continue to just run about and explore...

Found the EXPCalibur sword this morning!

...loot collecting and generally having a ball. I've learned there is a New Game+ on completion and free roam becomes a total thing against much harder enemies, but armed with much better weapons.

I have to be sensible with my spends now. What sort of split do we have in regards to ps4/xbox players?

Is it co op online then?

Fabian Delph is a banana split.

It's co-op online, I picked this up cos apart from Majoras Mask on 3DS, I cant see myself buying a game till March - Ori and blind forest, Grave (2 indie games) and Dark Souls 2 in April.

I have it on X1 obviously, most on here will have PS4 I presume.

Online co-op Glowy yeah.

Most will be playing on PS4 I reckon but the Xbone version isn't much different bar the slighty worse resolution.

It also runs worse, but it has better texture filtering.

slightly worse aka humans may not notice/wasnt mentioned in any X1 reviews.

It's really more of a controller/friends issue than performance.

Afraid not, dude.

All that red at the bottom marks torn frames on the Xbox One version. It's not going to be difficult to notice, for any species.

Devs have issued a new patch over Steam (just 13MB), and amazingly it has fixed a lot of the graphical issues users were having (me included), especially the View Distance bug which caused fps drops and stuttering before. Game is definitely running better now, with all settings to max or 'on' (except for hi-res textures, which apparently still require 3.5GB of GPU Ram). But - damn - this game just got a whole lot better on PC! Get in!

Spent all afternoon on it. Done a couple of main quests and side quests. Trying to unlock every safe house.

Not found any guns but managed to create a electric pipe and blade.

Battled 2 huge zombies and killed them both. Just need to get a few more skills and soon I'll be breaking legs and throwing zombies off roofs.

Wish my image sig would work
