Yes they will. I can see them showing off new hardware unless its just tweaked versions of the 3ds or wii u. They will show some new games that people will simply say, well they look pretty and kinda fun but we've seen that before on every console.

Even though I'm getting a Wii U on Friday I would be interested in seeing Nintendo reveal a new home console next year just to see which direction they go in.
They could go back to the N64 era and release a powerhouse machine as many say the Xbox one and PS4 aren't that technically amazing.

It would not be in Nintendo's best interests to muddy the waters and pull a Sega by prematurely releasing new hardware when things don't go to plan with what's already out.

When did Sega prematurely release new hardware? Dreamcast was only a year before PS2.

They released the mega CD add on for the mega drive and then promptly killed it for the Saturn which was also abandoned for the dreamcast after about 3 years. Lots of people felt burned by that and never trusted them again.

Releasing consoles too close together means people are likely to think twice about buying them as a new one is probably round the corner.

Looking back, that really was quite some release schedule. Mega CD, 32X, Saturn, Dreamcast; especially so for European gamers who 'enjoyed' all of this kit within an even more compressed period.

The Mega CD launched in 1993, the 32X arrived in January 1995, the Saturn in July 1995 and then we had a comparitively huge gap until the Dreamcast landed in 1999. That tri-launch from 93 through 95 really fragmented the market for Sega - even more so when considering there were two models of the Megadrive, two models of the Mega CD, the joypad changing from three to six buttons, and stuff like the Virtua Racing 'on cart expansion' all going on around the same time. Sega was chucking so many things around and, looking back, it was all a bit unco-ordinated. Even so, it adds up to make tremendous fun for gaming collectors today!

I'm not sure whether Mega CD and 32X's development contributed towards developing Saturn, but I'd prefer it if they never existed.

The 32X meant that Segas resources were spread far too thin when they had to try and counter the technically superior Playstation. Around the time of the Saturns release they were making games for 5 (6 if you want to include 32X CD games) separate platforms which is crazy.

The Saturn would probably have lost out to the Playstation anyways but they did themselves no favours.

Just occurred to me, how awesome would it be if Sony demoed No Man's Sky on Project Morpheus?

I am pretty certain that Microsoft have locked that down as a console exclusive.

I remember seeing a tweet from Shahid saying something along the lines of, 'just lost out on one of the most interesting games'.

Now the GC controller adapter has been announced, I reckon we'll hear about Gamecube Virtual Console games at E3.

So it's gone from only being developed on one console at time of its first showing, which everyone suspected was PS4 as XB1 kits hadn't been sent out at the time (or something like that), to being a XB1 console exclusive.

I'm pretty sure Shahid's following tweet was 'absolutely gutted'. I can't think of a single indie game that could get that sort of reaction.

I do think there is a real possibility we might see a slim or white Xbone.

At today's Apple developer conference they announced Family Sharing which allows you to buy an app and share it with your family (people who use your credit card details.) Phil Spencer has spoken of reevaluating game sharing so I think it will come, it just depends whether it'll be ready for this E3.

Surprised they have any sort of leverage at the Moment but I guess money talks & it won't be the only game they been shopping for.
