The problem is if the next gen isn't going to get released until Christmas 2020 will they have enough decent gameplay to show from those new machines?
That's going to be almost 18 months before the launch games are released which means games will be in extremely early condition and the developers will most likely not even have access to final devkits for months.
I have a feeling even next years E3 will be dominated by this generation with only short montages of game clips at the end of conferences to show that the machines do exist and what they hope the result will look like.
That's not always a bad thing as it's kind of interesting to see hardware being pushed to the absolute limits and they will be hopefully have a chance to really stretch the legs of the One X.
