I just want to find out what Arkane have been up to since Prey and Death of the Outsider - and hopefully it is something good!

Browsing job vacancies in my city I noticed they're currently hiring a cinematics director. Which is good as many assumed they'd been relegated to being a secondary helper studio given the poor sales of Dishonored and Prey

Yeah that was the concern, after neither game set the world on fire it was possible they would be given support studio detail or simply "released".

Although it was interesting to see that Dishonored 2 and Prey both had a healthy amount of post launch support - DLC and various bits and bobs have appeared for both since they came out. They're also still quite active on Twitter and the like to keep the interest up which is nice to see.

I suspect whatever we get from them will be a new IP rather than a continuation of either Prey or Dishonored. I think the former just didn't generate enough interest to warrant continuation (sadly  ) and with the latter I believe that Harvey Smith has stated that he's had enough of the franchise for now - that and I think it would be tough to continue the series directly following DotO.

Everything I'm hearing lately just sounds worse and worse, will I be prompted to make a similar thread to this one this year...

Please explain?
I've not been keeping much of an eye on the gaming news recently as I've been a bit depressed by work being even shittier than normal so I've only seen the odd article about next gen rumours.
Most of those are that some well paid analyst has made the ultra bold prediction that the PS5 will be $500 and release in November.

Sony have confirmed that PS5 won't release before the second half of 2020 and they won't be showing it at E3 (the Wired article last month was to quash devkit talk).

Microsoft is rumoured to be releasing the next Xbox around that time too, they may have a "one more thing" at the end of their conference but don't expect much.

The only possibility of seeing anything that resembles next-gen is cross-gen games being unveiled (think Cyberpunk 2077) and shown running on high-end PCs.

Don't let work get you down too much bud :capnscotty:

To be honest, I'm super hyped for this E3-there's a lot i'm looking forward to. Nintendo have a lot to show-Animal Crossing, Link's Awakening, Astral Chain, Fire Emblem and Luigi's Mansion 3 are all day 1s for me. Then outside of Nintendo there's Last of Us 2, Cyberpunk, Star Wars Fallen Order, FF7 Remake, Doom Eternal, BG&E2, and some possibilities like Square's Avengers project and a new Resi 3 remake.

I’m quietly excited for E3 as well, Nintendo should have a great one as they have loads to show off already and there’s always a chance we’ll get something brand new. Then there is a couple of other games that interest me, mainly The Last of Us 2 and Doom Eternal at the moment.

This was always going to be one of those off years, with Next-Gen coming next year this gen is starting to wind down in terms of big unannounced projects.

I still think we will see some cool stuff, just don’t go in expecting big omg mind blown type announcements.

Wasn't that leaked Harry Potter game meant to be them?

I've also seen a Justice League game rumoured which would make sense.

As luck would have it I'm probably going to be flying across the Atlantic when most of the big E3 stuff goes down. Hopefully I can catch something on the plane or in the airport while I'm waiting.

You know a new Paper Mario would be bobbins though. Sad but true.

They just need to remake TTYD and I’ll be happy. Sadly won’t happen though :(

Thousand Year Door will be remade but all the interesting characters will be replaced with Toads.

Mark my words.
