I was hoping for a surprise reveal of Dragon Age 4 or something.

Thank God we've got the first and worst conference out of the way. It had so much of what's bad about conferences.

The worthy excessive boring talking that loses the attention of the audience.
The 'kewl' rock and rap soundtracks.
The overly long gameplay demonstration with forced excitement.

Okay, so who's next?!

Playing the World Cup mode in multiplayer now. It’s obnoxious.

Yep, the franchise may as well be dead now as what they showed wasn't Command & Conquer.

Mobile is fine for turn based stuff but it's just terrible for RTS.

Quite disappointed with what I saw of Anthem, and the Command & Conquer mobile game left a bad taste in my mouth. Scoring this a 1/5.

That Anthem gameplay was demonstrated, presented, really badly. Jumping all over the place, fairly dull looking combat, so much flying about like a tinpot bluebottle. The UI is obtrusive, the numbers flying off enemies is really distracting.

It was a passable presentation imo - nothing particularly surprising but we all know it could've been worse. Excited to return to Battlefront 2 later this year.

That would have livened things up massively  .
A new Dragon Age using the same style as Origins on PC with the fully zoomable view so you could play as an proper turn based RPG if you wanted would have made this conference about 500 times better.

EA never do particularly good conferences but this was poor even by their standards.

Absolutely nothing of note.

Anthem looks worse than it did last year and as I feared is just going to be Destiny with Iron Man suits.

Unravel two looked nice enough but that was about it.

EDIT: Oh and I really don't understand their handling of Command and Conquer. They have what was once the biggest name in RTS games and they've utterly shat upon it. They should be getting a quality team behind it and positioning it as their Starcraft/eSports entry.

I disagree, SoS looked interesting too. Also, there's more like that bit with the thing.

At this stage I say I'm non-plussed about Anthem. Graphics look crisp, movement looks good but nothing has been shown about the world, the enemies or the characters to get me excited. However Bioware have earned enough good karma for me to give it my attention and there is likely a big mystery with the story so that might be why nothing much has been said.

Oh yeah I forgot about that.

Looked like another typical Indie-platform adventure game and nothing too special to be honest.

What bit with what thing?

Christ EA, that might be your worst one yet.

Battlefield V looked better and they've toned down the exaggerated tone a little.

Anthem still has my attention and FIFA 18 for free is a nice bonus.

But the rest...meh.

A very poor conference. No real surprises, gringey presentation, etc.

It was alright, I guess. Just finished covering it on my blog, and though I won't copy everything across, the basic summary is that it felt the conference was on an unbalanced board with some okay stuff and other things that felt it didn''t need to be there.
The two indies and Star Wars [despite nothing being shown] were the only highlights for me.
