Those 4 make them a strawberry float load of cash though!

Don't they make the golf games as well? I am not sure what other sports there are that would bring in the millions for EA. EA Sports: Snooker would be a bit too niche for them.

They used to have a yearly Tiger Woods golf game, but haven't made a new one since Rory McIlroy PGA back in 2015, deciding to focus on updates instead (a good thing, in my opinion). Also Fight Night boxing, which hasn't appeared this gen.

I know other sports are more niche but they must have the space for a gamble these days, especially with EA Access allowing them an instant large userbase. I'd love to see one of those old school Olympics games (a bit late for this, granted) or a modern take on Cricket or Rugby.

I would like to see others as well, but from EA’s point of view, how many copies would they sell or how many extra users would they attract to EA Access?

I don’t know how many people in India play PS4/Xbone, but that would be a massive cricket market for them if enough consoles were sold there. Rugby doesn’t really attract a big following worldwide, I can’t see an American company like EA wanting to spend money on making a game for a few people in the British Isles, Australia and South Africa.

The Olympics is a good shout and one I could see EA wanting to go with, we do usually get Olympic games but I am not sure if EA has ever thought about buying the licence.

Yeah this is just wishful thinking on my part. Although it goes to show the impact EA has when my first thought was that having a videogame about those sports might actually increase awareness of them in the US. You'd think it would be the other way around.

Man... digital gaming. I love it but then something like this happens and you wonder about it. Why not just leave games in the service? I guess it's "brand licensing limitations" or something.

They will have to pay for the PGA rights, presumably this means there is no chance of them putting out a licensed golf game.

Sounds good, but is it better than Battlefield 4?

There was an island on one of the maps I got well good at camping on and sniping the gooseberry fool out of people.

I've let my subscription lapse recently as I was getting a bit annoyed with them holding onto FIFA 18, will resubscribe when they finally put it on there.

FIFA usually goes into the vault earlier than that, but it makes sense for EA to hold on and pick up those additional sales thanks to the World Cup.

Well yeah, obviously. But that doesn't mean I have to subscribe. I understand their position, but I can still vote with my wallet.
