Bugger, is it? Completely missed that one. Buying!

From a brief skim the reviews look really positive as well.

Anyone else had a punt at this yet?

I don't quite know how I feel about it. The spritework is nice, but some of the aesthetics seem a little inconsistent with each other (e.g. the font, the chapter opening headers) and in places it feels a little self-consciously quirky. Like the saving fridges for example. Still, it feels like I've just scratched the surface. We'll see.

I need to watch some reviews for this, it looks like it could be really good! But I thought the same about Stardew Valley and just couldn’t get into that at all so who knows?

Off topic but still looking forward to Chucklefish’s next game, Witchbrook.

I thought it was pretty clear from my post that I'd played it...

I am enjoying it more now that I'm swapping between Sam and John. Just before the second boss I think.

Watched a few reviews for this, definitely one to pick up, maybe even this side of Metroid Dread. Some reviews say it’s almost 2D Zelda like in some ways which is nearly always a positive too!

Edit, bought it  Probably won’t make a start on it till tomorrow at the earliest but it looks like a lot of fun with a good story in there as well according to the reviews. Reviews also saying it’s around 30 hours which is a bit longer than I was expecting as well.

Got chance to play about 45 mins to an hour this evening, first impressions are very good. It looks amazing, soundtrack so far (so very limited) seems to be promising. Potentially a good story too, the 2 main characters seem to have a very strong relationship already despite John being a silent protagonist so it’s vocally one sided. Combat so far has been simple but again, I imagine this ramps up a little at least. Ive just unlocked Earth-Born and got my pan fixed before saving it, not sure how much of Earth-Born I’ll play or how long the game within the game is but I imagine it’s a nice distraction if you want? Looking forward to playing some more of this :)

If you like the beginning I can't imagine not loving the game. Where I am now, the game's had a couple of scenery changes (shall we say) that have turned it from a very :? experience into a :simper: one at least.

So far it has taken a couple of small nods from Zelda, like you get an extra heart for defeating a boss (well the first one went this way), seem to find more items although I still only have a pan that you then need to defeat a boss or puzzle, hard to say this is limited to Zelda though.

I don't get much of a Zelda feel from it. The Earthbound influence is strong though. More like Earthbound with action dungeons.

One thing that hasn't been mentioned is that this game does a really good job with rumble. Most noticeable with the trains. Lovely stuff.

No, the ties to Zelda are very limited really, to the extent where I’m not sure why some reviews even mentioned them. Again, early days for me but I’ve noticed the rumble is good too, the hum of the generator in the first ‘puzzle’ could be felt through the rumble.
