If anybody wants to hook me up with a way of watching this I won't complain (I don't have Netflix) :shifty:

Fun watch but ultimately doesn't particularly go anywhere.

Nice to revisit an old friend.

Enjoyable enough, very simple story but some blanks filled in.

Acting was good, but it did nothing.

Seemed a bit pointless. Might forget I ever seen that.

Can I ask somebody who's seen it, does watching it spoil Better Call Saul?

Supposedly a very tiny cameo (I'm only on season 1) but nothing at all to worry about.

I thought it is very good but it is sad to know that Heisenberg is definitely dead.

If you've seen all of breaking bad, not at all.

Watched it last night:

Really enjoyed it, although ultimately it is a bit pointless.

I thought it was great, I am not sure why people thought it was pointless, it was just a fun/nice way of wrapping up Jesse's story. I wasn't expecting it to set up a new drugs empire or a new series though so maybe that's why I wasn't at all disappointed.

Small Better Call Saul/El Camino spoilers:

As soon as Mike mentioned Alaska I knew that would be where Jesse ended up. But I was hoping that vacuum guy was going to drop Jesse off at a certain Cinnabon and it would set up Jesse being in the flashforwards of the next season of BCS.

We don't really need to know what happened to Jesse. It was nice to see of course, and a fun couple of hours doing so. I suppose it was good to see what happened to Tod's crew and know that they didn't get to carry on with any cooking or the cash. I also suspect we may see a little tie in to Alaska in BCS at some point.

I don’t buy the “we don’t need to know” idea. Nothing in El Camino spoiled Jesse’s character and it basically put him in the same situation Saul is in. BCS is wonderful so there’s now hope we might get more Jesse - either in BCS or his own show/movies.

El Camino was worth it just for Skinny Pete and Badger. And their gaming chairs!

I didn't say it did spoil anything.

Those chairs are the original series enterprise. Captain's chairs

Robert Forster has died

Watched this yesterday. Was a bit disappointed as it did plod along. I guess I was expecting something new story-wise, but instead it was just a wrap up of Jesse's story and another excuse to see many of the side characters.
It felt more like the final episode of Breaking Bad than a new movie. For what it was it was fine.

Watched it last night and thought it was amazing, felt good just to be watching new Breaking Bad again.

Maybe it wasn't 100% necessary or needed, but although it wasn't the plan from the outset of BB, Jesse ended up being just as much a main character as Walt so I think it's fitting that he's got his own finale of sorts now.

Really enjoyed it. One question (probably me being dumb):

Why did Badger need to dump Pete's car, exactly?

Only watched it once and was a little drunk at the time, so could have it completely wrong but weren't they playing it like it was a trade, so Jesse would have fled in Skinny's car?

5/10

Aaron Paul's acting is flawless as usual. He was born to play this role.
But for a Breaking Bad sequel, this reeks of missed potential. It was fun to see Jesse and the other characters again but the plot ultimately went nowhere. We ended up right where we started - with Jesse driving away, with nothing having changed - so it was completely pointless. Also disappointed we didn't get to see Skylar's family; see their reaction to everything that's happened.
Was an interesting enough way to spend two hours but it could have been so much more, did something different with the story. Jesse isn't nearly as interesting enough to be the lead, or at least he wasn't given enough interesting material to make this seem like a necessary addition to Breaking Bad.

The show was incredible, the best non-sitcom/non-DrWho show I've ever watched, so I wish we could have spent more time with more content than what this movie gave us.
