What if I'm reading this at 2AM Guru Elon? Surely then today's sunrise will be the first?

So true Elon. You are a visionary. Most people don't realise how lucky they've got it.

Well, I'll hold my hands up. Definitely thought this was a real bid and not a simple pump and dump scheme. What a strange person.

He's going to have to pay them a billion isn't he. I really wanted him to buy it and self inflict pain on his finances.

That's not necessarily even the easy way out.

With the contract, it seems to not contain the usual "sale agreed subject to standard due diligence" clauses and only has exceptional circumstances as a means of exiting with the 1 billion withdrawal fee and it's not entirely clear what counts and what level of bots to actual users ratio would be enough to meet the threshold.

So the pain on his finances could be substantially worse since Twitter can potentially force him to complete on the contract. Twitter's spokesperson has already said: We intend to close the transaction and enforce the merger agreement at the agreed price and term. Could well end up being forced to buy the world's most expensive lemon.

Good strawberry float him. I absolutely despise the c*nt.

You have all the money in the world. You could cure diseases or eradicate world hunger or...basically make the world a better place for Billions of people, and rather than be that guy, he chooses to be a Troll with an ego issue.

Honestly I hope he dies soon.

I really hope this is true, I don't know anything about Mark Cuban but I like to think this is the type of gooseberry fool I'd want to do if I was mega rich.

Obviously quite a positive thing (not reading into it anymore at least) but what I object to here is the implication that things would be better if we just had more good billionaires, rather than if we just didn't have billionaires. Why rely on unaccountable individuals deciding to do the right thing when that could be ensured through democracy.

Indeed....no billionaires and a good Government would obviously be the best case. Shame we have neither.

What puzzles me is seeing so many Americans argue in defence of billionaires to get even more money.

The idea that they have more money than they can possibly spend in the next 10 generations doesn't matter to them they always somehow deserve more while at the same time being furious at people at the bottom end asking for a decent minimum wage.

They have been totally brainwashed into thinking trickle-down is the only way to go and that if we only pile more money on the billionaires then the poor will eventually get some of that money.

Who actually needs more than $5B?
There's only so much stuff you can use and even with interest rates at record lows that sort of money still generates massive incomes.

The argument is that it's not really money. He owns companies that are theoretically worth 200 billion. Although in his case they are massively over valued IMO.

Meh, 'really money''s kinda nebulous in today's society.

I buy some foreign currency with a relative value that can fluctuate hugely before I have a chance to change it back. Is that really money?
I pay for most things with a bit of plastic that carries a promise of transactions at some point. Is that really money?
I can overclock a bunch of computers to solve pointless problems to be told I've got something called an 'eth'. Is that really money? (No.)
