Have you tried it yet? I loaded it up on Steam Deck and the controls seemed a bit janky? I couldn’t get the doors to open in the beginning  it’s probably more me than the game being wrong tho

I spent a chunk of yesterday evening doing the tutorial. Like you I found the controls all over the place to begin with, but I managed to download a user layout from another player that had like 10,000 likes or something and that's worked a treat. Still had to bind some keys like using the scope and the flashlight but now it's good to go :toot:

Cool, I’ll take a look at the controller inputs available and download the one you have and try again

It's a game that is very much built around keyboard and mouse input so you have to consider that when playing on Deck. When I played it I found using gyro a pretty good stand in for the kind of speed and precision you need from your inputs - things like picking up small items, interacting with buttons etc. can be a bit fiddly when just using the sticks.

It's still an amazing game though, I absolutely blasted through my latest replay on the Steam Deck last year

Is it better playing the modded Deus Ex Revision on Steam? Seems to have some QoL updates and updated textures?

Revision is great, and I seem to recall it has a degree of flexibility over what features/changes you can use, but some of the changes are quite significant - there are big alterations to level designs etc.

It's a fantastic way to revisit the game and get a remixed experience, but might be worth looking at the settings before jumping in if you want to experience something more akin to the original

Revision seems good, I’ve kept the new settings on normal so it’s just basic QoL stuff and updated textures. Text size is really small though, particularly the menus and weapon bar in the bottom corner, will need to play around with the resolution to see if I can make that any better.

Hmm, Revision should have a setting for UI scaling that sorts that out

I just went with the vanilla GOTY edition, felt more respectful for some reason  :fp:

Controversial take but I enjoyed Invisible War :shifty:

Invisible War still has a lot going for it to be fair, it was just always going to be under huge pressure from what it had to follow and they made some unfortunate decisions that held it back

Sorted the text size out, the UI scaling did a little bit but changing the resolution to 768x480 helped massively. Played a bit of this and it seems really interesting so I’ll be playing through this at some point soon.
