I wasn't really interested in this, but if that tweet is accurate and I can share my seed with other players then I will have to take a closer look.

Am I right in saying this is an enhanced remaster? Or is it a brand new sequel?

As far as I'm aware it's a brand new game - the Japanese direct called it a new entry in the Endless Ocean series.

Looking forward to this. Loved the first one. Wish someone would redo Sega Marine Fishing too.

Bit worried about this. I really want more Endless Ocean but I don’t want to be swimming about with loads of other people thank you. (I am that person that enjoyed Journey the most on my own…) I can kind of see the joy of sharing but that isn’t really why I play video games. I play for me time, solo time, escape time. So if this sequel is built around multiplayer then, very sadly, probably not for me. Sniff, sniff…

I think that the online multiplayer gameplay is optional, still.

Nintendo has released a chill video detailing some of the sights and sounds of the ocean:

Thanks Jawa. Yes, that's much more the vibe I'm after!

Yeah, that screenshot of everyone posing put me right off. Not what I want in a game like this.

I'd think you can play it singleplayer and not deal with any of that and focus on solo experience, the multiplayer is there for people who want it.

This US trailer shares new details about the game including the Veiled Ocean zone; an area which changes each time you visit.

Oh, and it also confirms that you can have shared dives (i.e. with other players online) and solo dives. You can, if you choose, become "dive buddies" with other players.

rinks, will you be on the lookout for dive buddies?!? ;-).

Decided to cough up full price for this, so will be available as a dive buddy if anyone needs one.

Reviews up, currently sitting at 66, seems the story mode is poor and it doesn’t sound all that exciting to actually play which is a shame.

Looks dull as strawberry float, sadly.

I think this may be a rather niche, "marmite" game.

I liked Eurogamer's heading - "Endless Ocean Luminous isn't very good and I sort of love it". It's a game that I'd love to try but not at forty quid.

For a very small number of people, this will be a great, relaxing title for them to unwind with after a stressful day, but even then you expect a little more content than what seems to be on offer here? I have no idea how it compares on the content front compared to the two Wii entires though?
