Coalition of chaos again, other than the Conservative/Lib Dem and Conservative/DUP coallition which were completely fine.

It's like someone got ChatGPT to do a written version of that meme with the crying face behind the mask.

I'd have thought the Tories could quite comfortably rule it out. Refuck won't get more than a small handful of MPs at best (hey, let's take the silver linings of FPTP where we can find them) and I was under the impression support for the DUP had caved. Who else is going to buddy up with them? Nick Clegg is too busy with Facebook, or Meta or whatever.

They quite often go back on their word and rarely get called out on it by the media so I don't know why they don't just rule it out now anyway.

Given the chance of some cabinet positions? I have zero doubt the Lib Dem's would jump back into bed with them.

I'll stick a whole bunch of grapes up my arse, one by one, and fart them back out in a GRcade livestream bonanza if that happens at the next GE.

You genuinely think the Lib Dem's would turn down the chance of a bit of power? That Ed Davey (who was a minister in the coalition) would refuse it?

I think the Lib Dem's would pick Labour over the Tories. But I have no doubt they'd jump into bed with the Tories if that was the only option to get into the government.

Yes, I genuinely think the Lib Dems would refuse a coalition with the Tories if it was on the table after the next GE.

I've been far too optimistic in the past, so who knows, maybe I'm setting myself up again  but surely, surely not. I just can't see it.

I'm hoping the Tories won't be in a position for us to find out but like Moggy, I have little doubt they would jump at a sniff of power.

Leicester seems to be the only really unusual local election result. Local politics / issues bucking the wider trend?

Labour NEC deselected a load of popular local candidates, overruling the local party's choices, including incumbents, largely from black and Asian backgrounds.

The Labour party in Leicester has been left reeling after 19 sitting councillors, the majority of them from black, Asian or minority ethnic backgrounds, were deselected by the national committee.

About 40% of Labour’s councillors in the city have been told they cannot stand in May’s election, after party figures decided to appoint an NEC board to choose Leicester’s council candidates rather than leave the decision to local members.

Absolutely baffling decision by the Labour NEC. What possible reason could it have for doing that?
