Entertainment / technology companies are quickly moving towards subscription (pay monthly) services. Every dang company is doing it! I guess that many GRcadians are subscribing to at least a couple of things... and some folk may be paying for quite a few.

Is it getting a bit out of hand? Do you get value from the subs? Maybe you're paying for some that you'd be better off cancelling? Perhaps you love the pay monthly approach?

Prime, Spotify, NSO and Netflix.

They’re all great except NSO but I only play a few quid for that.

For entertainment I subscribe to Netflix, NowTV and Amazon. NowTV I only bother with when I can find cheap codes and I am still on student deal for Amazon.

I subscribe to Spotify as well, although that’s a waste of money really for the amount I bother using it.

I have PS+, Gamepass Ultimate and EA Access. I don’t think I will bother resubscribing to EA Access though.

Ermm, I have a pay monthly mobile contract and still subscribe to Empire magazine.

Dang! How'd I omit that?!?

Sorry, folks - I've just amended the voting options to include Amazon, Now TV and magazine subscriptions. From this point, anything else will have to go under the "Other (state)" option!

*So* many entertainment subs options :o .

Spotify is brilliant, and in my opinion easily the best value for money.

Largely helped by the fact it's very difficult for the record labels to take their content and setup their own streaming service as is happening in the TV/movie world.

Gamepass should really be 3 things, Gamepass, Gamepass PC, and Gamepass Ultimate, as Ultimate includes Gold or Xbox online and both Xbox and PC gamepass. Too late now though.

Also, does Comi come under Manga?

Just PS+ and NSO, but we get Netflix and Prime Video from my girlfriend's dad. Would probably pay for netflix, but wouldn't pay for prime.

PS+ and NSO probably aren't worth it as I can go months without using one or the other but a yearly sub is just easier than faffing when an online game comes round.

At the moment my monthly subs are PS Plus (I pay this just 'cos I want to play online), MMO (Fallout 76 8-) ) and Nintendo Online (again, I pay this just 'cos I want to play online).

For next gen consoles I'm definitely not going multi-format as I don't want to carry on paying two subs to play online.

Yeah, manga goes in the comics section, dude. Doesn't matter if it's physical or digital (same with the magazines and books options).

Netflix
Sky (the most basic of packages)
Spotify (free)
Phone

That's it. About £35 all in.

Check out my YouTube channel!

Prime, Netflix, PS+, Game Pass, NSO and mobile phone contract (x2) and I'm pretty happy with all of them really.

Prime - No one part of this really stands out as essential to me, if they were individual services I would probably bin them. But as an overall package it gets me free fast deliveries, free games on Twitch, online storage for photos and file backups and I use it for the odd bit of TV and music as well. Can't see me ditching this any time soon.

Netflix - This gets a lot of use across the whole family, pretty much every day of the week someone is watching something on here and I've enjoyed plenty of their original content so whilst the price has been creeping up over the years I'm still very pleased with what I get.

PS+ - Arriving late to the PS4 this has been really good value for me. I've picked up a bunch of games, some better than others admittedly but there have been a few gems given away that make it worth while. The discounts have been handy as well. I got this on a cheap deal for 12 months and if I can continue to pick it up at the same rate then I will be happy to carry on subscribing.

Game Pass - I've yet to pay full price for this, my first 4 months have only cost me £2 so far! But even when I do start paying more I still think this is an absolute bargain - and I only use it on PC so that's ignoring the whole XBOX side of things! Getting access to all the XBOX studios games along with a rolling selection of other great offerings has been brilliant. Definite keeper at this point.

Nintendo Switch Online - ... well it's cheap I suppose, that's probably the main thing this has going for it. I enjoy playing games online with folk on here but other than that I think the service could do with a bit of TLC. The NES and SNES games are an interesting distraction but I've probably spent less than 2 hours on them. I'm paid up until early next year on this but may consider whether I renew it.

Don't sub to any TV services, and my phone is still pay as you go because i can't be arsed to change it.

For me it's just PSPlus, but i pay yearly rather than monthly, and that's only so i can play Call of Duty.

It's been a few days since the last one, so i'm hoping to be able to play a few matches later.

Amazon seem to undercut the value of Prime by how good their ordinary delivery it is. I know it depends massively on where you live (and I have complained extensively about their delivery in the past) but I got next day delivery (Saturday order, delivered Sunday), when I ordered selecting the free super saver delivery a few weeks ago.

I can't really keep track of what's included in Prime though so can't speak to the value of the rest of it. I only really see it as the worst streaming TV / Movie catalogue.

Just Netflix and Spotify for me, although I do have logins for both Sky and BT Sport that I use to watch the football.

And the private GRcade Gold membership, obviously.
