The first pint is always a bit frothy.

After that with the right technique and a bit of practice it should be better.

The glass you are using should be rinsed, you open the tap full straight away, and let it hit the glass high up at an angle. The more the drink just passes through air the frothier it gets.

Also, if you let it settle for a bit most of the froth will turn to beer. Topping it up probably just exacerbates the problem.

First pint.

Free pint apparently. Not sure if you'll need to end up buying something to get it.

No purchase necessary. Basically £5 off your order, but you’ll have to pay for delivery if the total is under £50. And delivery is… £4.99.

Colleagues got me a 3 month subscription to Beer52 as a leaving gift from work which is nice! First one arrived today and is Croatia themed, not really sure how much is based on Croatia... But intrigued by the vanilla bean stout.

Had a free beer52 box before and it was nice but I only got it for the free box offer  so will be good to see what the variety is like over 3 months.

I'll see what this box is like and may change to the light beers only option for the next two depending how nice the dark beers are in this one.

Also very excited about the snack

Weather is fantastic so starting a day early this week.

Leffe Summer - a lighter, weaker (still 5.2%) of the Leffe Blonde ale.

I had a free crate a few months ago and thought it was really good. And honestly, who doesn't get excited about an included snack?

It's Brew Republic you need to watch out for. Pond water :dread:.

Thornbridge Shelby (as in Peaky Blinders) IPA.

Next time you drink from a can or a bottle afterwards check if it's left a film of froth like this:

Apparently its a sign of quality if it does.

Excellent. Just looking now. How was the Leffe Summer? I love Leffe Blond, so this could be my first choice. What else has been good?

The Leffe Summer was very nice. But I was hoping it would be light enough to drink in the blazing hot sun which it wasn't.

If you like Leffe Blonde get the La Trappe. They've got a bundle deal on to get 2 kegs and a La Trappe glass at the moment.

Other than that guess it depends what you like. Jupiler is the best lager I've had. The Hertog Jan is supposed to very good but not tried it yet.

For something a bit fruity the Clwb Tropica (the extra strength of the Pineapple Express isn't worth it for me) Cali Pale Ale and La Virgen pale ale are all delicious.

If you like Guinness the Magic Rock Dark Arts is supposed to be very good.

Shelby is nice but not as good as Jaipur.

Thanks for the tips. Lots of them are out of stock. I guess last week’s heat got people buying.

I think they get new stock each week so none are out of stock very long, although some always sell out very quickly each week.

They update the multi-buy selection (10% off 3 / 15% off 6) each Wednesday.

If you are interested in buying matching beer glasses these sites are good:

https://ukglassware.com/

I get my skins here:

You aficionados probably know this but I’ve only just found out that Schraderbrau - yes, the beer that Hank in Breaking Bad makes and names after himself - is an actual beer now! The guy who played him runs it. Mad.

Even if you weren't keen on Stella Artois before, they've really ruined it now. I don't know when they changed the recipe, but it's terrible. They've also gone and buggered up Birra Moretti since last time I drank it. Used to be an import job and it's now made here. Both taste a lot weaker than they did before.

I've noticed a few Mexican (supposedly...) beers have suddenly turned up in Sainsbos, could be worth trying. Saw Modelo Especial was £4.50 for 4.

Modello is my larger (As in the drink larger) choice on holiday. The negra version is also nice.
