The six-keg offer is a great deal. I reckon once I’ve tried everything I want to, and know which are going to be my regulars, I might sign up for the three-keg subscription thing to get 15% off, then just order occasional extra kegs of new/other things.

If it wasn't just lager I'd be tempted by the subscription. Just seems a lot to be drinking each month if you want to have other stuff too.

I've just been setting my mine up and had a bit of panic because I thought it was broke. When I first put the keg in it made the whirring sound for ages and then when it finally did stop it was doing it every few minutes.

I've changed the pipe and tried a different keg (both Lowenbrau, as I've got family coming this weekend so was putting one in the machine and chilling another) and it's fine now. Hopefully it was an issue with the pipe, at worse it's a faulty keg. The potential faulty one is now chilling, hopefully it'll be ok when I switch over but if not it'll probably get drank pretty quick.

Oh god, I didn’t realise it was only such a limited selection. I figured they’d let you choose from the whole range. Sod that then.

Hope your machine is OK. If it keeps trying to re-pressurise like that, it suggests a leak somewhere, so a dodgy top pipe (or keg valve) would make sense. I definitely plan to re-use a pipe kit - like you suggested - when I’m having two of the same keg in a row, so I’ve got at least one spare.

Super-quick delivery this time! Only ordered yesterday afternoon, and the Jupiler is already in the fridge.

Wahey, the Oktoberfest kegs are up, and you get a free stein if you order three. Just going to wait to see what tomorrow's deal is. I really want to try the regular Spaten before the Oktoberfest version.

Only the Lowenbrau one showing for me. No pack either, have you had an email?

If you're hoping the Spaten is on the multi-buy tomorrow you shouldn't get your hopes up, I don't think I've ever seen it in there.

That said, the Hertog Jan (which is supposed to be very good) is currently on when I've not seen it before, it's out of stock most of the time.

Just put my second keg of Shelby in, it's going down very nicely!

Got the email now. The Spaten is sold out!

Might want to order ASAP if you want the Lowenbrau.

Oh balls haha.

The next two I want to try are the Spaten and the Hertog Jan. The ideal situation would be one or both in the multi-buy, along with others that I know I like. I don’t want to order more than one Hertog Jan until I’ve tried it. The others in the current offer are either things I’d want to try a can of first (not a big fan of stout), or Becks, which I’m not buying! That would leave me getting two Stellas to make up the three. Not what I want right now.

I’ll see if tomorrow’s deal is better for me. If not, I’ll just order full-price Hertog Jan, Spaten and an Oktoberfest Lowenbrau. Then try the Lowenbrau first, and if I like it, order three more!

Do you reckon that’s it for the Spaten special edition, or might they get more in?

I think they might get more in, it's only just September after all, but I don't really know because I didn't get any last year.

OK cheers, I’ll hold fire for now. I did just briefly consider ordering three Lowenbrau while they’re available - but the Lowenbrau steins are now out of stock haha.

If you like the look of any pack/new limited release keg you are best ordering straight away because they tend to sell out very quickly. The Tennents was introduced this year and its only just now they tend to have it in stock for any length of time.

Have you tried the Tennents? It’s always had a pretty bad reputation but it sounds like it’s popular!

I’m just about to do my first keg return. I’m sure I read somewhere that you don’t need to put the QR code stickers on the kegs any more, but I can’t find where I read it.

No, I probably will at some point though. I spent a few nights in Glasgow about 10 years ago and think I had it then and was surprised at how nice I thought it was. My palate might have changed since then. At 4% it's ideal for a day session in the sun etc. Yes, people have been going crazy for it!

I always put the QR stickers on. I think in the past you might have had to print and include some type of form as well but they got rid of that. All I do is put them back in the box, with a sticker on (to the left of the barcode) and take them to a local Bargain Booze. You show them a barcode on your phone that is generated when you do a return process and they print off the return stickers. I usually return them early Saturday morning, they get picked up same day and I normally have the credit by end of week.

Tennents have worked really hard on their keg beers and craft stuff over the last few years - I’m far from a massive fan of them but it does seem to have paid off!

I guess I’m stuck in an 80s mindset, when they used to be a byword for drunken tramps (as it was fine to call them at the time). I need to reassess and give them a try!

Haha, that’s the stuff. I only ever had it once. Weird to have a beer that’s so thick you have to chew it.

Utterly vile, but it does what it says on the tin - gets you super strawberry floated up, super quick.
