Never tried that, but there’s nothing more refreshing than a nice cider. Got a couple of bottles of Henney’s in the fridge, waiting for a really hot day here.

What's good in the world of cider these days? I haven't really had anything alcoholic for years so other than the fact I remember liking cider I'm a bit clueless as to what's out there.

Its main stream stuff but Inches cider is very nice. Not very strong but has a good clean taste that's not too West country or too sweet.

Mainstream is absolutely fine, thank you for the recommendation!

When I was into cider I was a fan of Thatcher's. I could make do with Thatcher's Gold but I really liked Old Rascal and Green Goblin. Don't know if they still make those two.

I've just checked and they do still make those two, I'll give them a try. Thanks for the suggestions!

Thatcher Katy is really nice too, is a single apple variety cider, very nice.

Pretty much anything from Aspell is awesome too.

I've been drinking some sparkling mead lately. Really nice and refreshing, and a much lighter and fresher alternative to beer or cider. Perfect for the summer.

I’ve got a keg of Orchard Pig Reveller cider on the go. It’s very nice, but I’ve had enough of it now, so I’m swapping it out for Leffe Royale after today’s heat lets up.

I was drunk on Sunday and the Sunday before that to be fair, but before that I hadnt had a drink since like sometime around christmas..

This Sunday I was drinking Malibu, Jack Daniels, Stella, Gordans pink Gin and strong bow dark fruit....... I tend to not be that big into Larger preferring spirits and Cider. I do like Banana Bread Beer when I can get it.

In this heat I am sticking to water and pop

I’m sure there’s a name for that cocktail, or something like it…

Did you wake up leaning against the bar?

I wonder who's the mad lad with a Vineyard in Mayo or near Aberdeen. :slol:

Climate change could uncork great British red wines

There are great British wines? Sarcasm aside TBH I can’t stand any of it. I used to be ok but a decade of drinking Port now just makes wine seem like watered down Port.

White Port is worth a go if you can get hold of it. Nice over some ice with a little tonic. It’s sweeter than Gin which I find too dry and honestly makes me think of my grandma. Heaven knows how that became a trendy drink.

I sound like some sort of snob but genuinely Lager, Cider, Gin, Champagne, any wine and anything Vodka related just makes me sick.

If I’m being cheap I’ll go for a bitter but I don’t drink at home very often so tend to buy expensive things as they last a long time.

I’ve still got a bottle of a 16 year Lagavulin single malt I’ve had for over 2 years in the cupboard with about 20% left in it. It’s too good to quaff. Same with beers. I tend to buy local Bradfield, Loxley or Thornbridge ales. Anything made in the Peak District is worth a shot due to the quality of the water. I’ve got my eye on some White Peak Derbyshire whisky to replace the Lagavulin when it’s gone.

And if you’ve never tried it I thoroughly recommend some proper Portuguese Madeira dessert wine. Very sweet but it goes down so well. I was introduced to it by some friends and it’s gorgeous.

Wahey, the Oktoberfest kegs are out. Ordered one of each, plus the free stein, and I’ll order more once I’ve tried the Spaten, which I missed last year.

Got an Israeli red wine I've had since Passover that I might finally get round to opening tonight (before the 1 litre Bailey's go on sale :toot:).

Had a bit of a drink tonight a whole bunch of sourz, some whisky, some raspberry deadmans finger, coffee flavoured tequila, it was my father in law's 80th... Stayed on the coke and lemonade till 9 when all the kids left as I'd kind of decided to be the designated sober one looking after them then thought sod it time for a drink.

Brewdog Lost Lager on on Perfect Draft now, just ordered a couple of kegs/glasses.

They also have Camden Hells and Pale Ale kegs now.

Hells was the first on. Actually had a pint of this in the pub after I'd bought the keg but before I tried the keg and didn't really enjoy it so was not looking forward to a keg of the stuff but it's actually one of my favourites. I've got a keg of Camden Pale ale but not tried it yet.

Also got to get through kegs of:
Goose Island Golden Goose Lager
Thornbridge Green Mountain Pale Ale
Tiny Rebel Clwb Tropica IPA
Jupiler
Stella Artois
