currently on a cocktails mission.
picked up a great book that lets you assemble a cocktail base in 12 bottles -

I think I have had the mango one. I love a fruit beer especially a fruit sour.
Never got around to trying the mango one sadly, haven't been back to Belgium since 2016 either so i've not really had the chance to.
Bruges in particular is great for buying beer though, in amongst the regular souvenir stores are shops dedicated to stocking as many types of beer as they possibly can, you go in one and there are so many shelves that for some out of reach varieties, you need to ask a member of staff to help using a ladder.
I do always like to try local brews (not just beer) when on the continent too, sadly though, Schnapps was the most widespread drink when i visited Austria this summer and i really didn't like it (way too strong). I am rather partial to some gluhwein at christmas markets though, decided to try some for the first time in Germany and the stuff really does warm you up on a cold December day.

Local Tesco (Hastings) had the brewdog (Lone wolf) vodka on reduced to clear so have picked some up.
Was £32 was reduced to £17.60.

Bought a box full of random beers and ales from Aldi at the weekend, they have a surprisingly wide variety on offer. Made sure I didn't grab any that I'd had before, so I'm looking forward to just stepping into the unknown

Brew dog do a pretty good one I believe.
I've never bought a made one, I've had them in the past but made them myself.

I've added that to my wishlist, it sounds like a lifesaver.
I love a cocktail, but I'm always put off by the recipes that call for a thimble of obscure shite I'll never use again

Yup, especially when the brewery styles and beer styles are very very destink.
No-one looking for a 3.8% Amber Ale is going to be buying an 11% Peanut Butter Stout by mistake.

Ah, that's really annoying. Had a bottle of Yellow Belly earlier in the year, it was £9 but GOD DAMN it was tasty.

I got one of the Brewdog ones this year. It's all packaged up very nicely and it'll be cool seeing what's behind each 'door'. Pics of first two days below:

AB InBev has changed their name to the “Budweiser Brewing Group UK&I“ and opened up a fancy pants new office in London:
The news follows the appointment of a new president, Paula Lindenberg, and the opening of new London headquarters.
The brewer of some of the world’s best loved beers – including Stella Artois, Budweiser, Corona, Michelob Ultra, Bud Light, Beck’s, Bass and Boddingtons – has also outlined five new ambitions to:
- champion Britain’s beer culture with trade-boosting programmes.
- create a nation of Smart Drinkers.
- be the UK’s most sustainable brewer.
- be one of the best places to work.
- continue investment in “premium” drinks and “powerful” brands.
Paula Lindenberg, president of Budweiser Brewing Group UK&I, said: “We are a fast-paced, ambitious group that dreams big, and we have exciting plans ahead for the UK and Ireland. Through the power and recognition of the Budweiser brand, we want to open ourselves up to working with more partners to achieve our ambitions.
“We are looking forward to making a big impact in the year ahead, working towards brewing our beers with 100% renewable electricity and accelerating our progress towards 20% of our global products being no or low alcohol.”
Lindenberg joined Budweiser Brewing Group UK&I in January 2019 from the group’s Ambev business in Brazil, where she was the vice-president of marketing, and is now based in London.

Had my first ever bottle of Newcastle Brown Ale this evening and it was absolutely gorgeous, straight into my top 5 beers.
