I've had a bottle of pinotage and a couple of gin + bitter lemonade + fresh lime juice cocktails.

If this is Sunday then bring it on!

Decided to do a month off booze for physical and mental reasons.

Month is up Tuesday. Its true what they say about giving it up for an extended period time, it really clears your mind so you can focus and think about when you can have a strawberry floating beer again

I can't wait...

what was your general booze volume before giving up and do you think the month off benefited you (aside from wallet lol)?

Probably drank twice a week on average, 10-20 units a session depending on what was happening.

I've lost 5kg without doing any real amount of excercise so that's a benefit. Probably more productive without hangovers to deal with too. Not sure anything else though.

I've been trying to lose weight and cutting out lots of wine and beer is a part of that. So I've been trying to get into bourbons and whiskeys, so I can still have one or two without taking on a fuckton of calories at the same time. It's been really nice getting into some more high end ones too.

I've bought a subscription to this whiskey tasting thing so I'm looking forward to getting a little taster box to peruse too.

I bought my girlfriend this, as she need more whisky and I'm from Norfolk.

I don't particularly care for whisky, what should I be missing it with (for me, my girlfriend will do what she wants as an actual whisky drinker).

Mix it with what you want it's your whisky. Ginger ale with lime is good. Or just soda water.

I would personally have a single malt neat or a splash of water if it's really strong or a large ice cube.

Is an Overworks Cosmic Raspberry, is a very sour raspberry beer and it’s bloody lovely.

I've asked Mrs Choc for a 10L box of Sea Cider for our anniversary. I first tried a pint last year when I went for a meal with a mate, and it was bloody lovely. It tasted exactly like a Rhubarb & Custard sweet.

Problem is, I can't remember which flavour I had! It's odds-on that it was the Rhubarb one, obviously. But I don't remember it being labelled as such, and I'm fairly sure it was stronger than 4%. Buying in 10L boxes isn't exactly conducive to narrowing it down, and £40 is a lot to spend on getting it wrong! :slol:

I'd love to, but the 10L bag-in-a-box is the smallest they sell!

I would recommend using an app called untappd, it’s effectively a beer and cider social network but it’s bloody useful remember what you have had when trying to find something you really liked,

Has anyone tried anything from Beer Brothers? Eddie Hall has a new lager made by them.
