Sour beer is awesome, but it’s hard to get into, you need to find a gateway sour that starts you on the journey.

Buxton brewery, Far Skyline is a good option, it taste like cloudy lemonade start there and in no time you’ll be enjoying a Rodenbach Grand Cru

I know this isn't the whisky thread but strawberry float it, I bought a bottle of Pike Creek Canadian whisky today in Waitrose and it's pretty nice. Never had Canadian whisky before, thought it would taste of Maple syrup but alas, it tastes of whisky.

Mrs Choc has developed a taste for Guinness, which I can't stomach for the life of me, so I've been on the hunt for a more palatable beer for the filthy casual. Given that I've enjoyed two beers in my life, ever- Bacchus and Miller Lite- I expect that this will be no small task.

Just last week I tried Black Sheep's Pineapple Milkshake IPA, which smelled lovely! Unfortunately, it turned out to be the absolute worst drink to ever pass my lips.

And I've tried Fosters.

You could try something like Frulli which is a strawberry beer, there is also a brewer called Timmermans who make outstanding fruit beers.

If you want something more “beery” Northern Monk do a beer called Tropical World Smoothie IPA which is made with Mango and Pineapple Purée and Passionfruit Concentrate so would give the fruit edge that it sounds like you like

The Frulli and Northern Monk are in my local Tesco so might be same for yours.

Ooh, they sound promising! I'll see if they've got them next time I do a Tesco shop. :D

Ha, I knew someone would say something like that!

Yes, they have a decent selection, it's just under 40. https://perfectdraft.com/uk/perfectdraft-beer-kegs.html

I've got a load of plebs coming to mine though so the Stella will go down well.

Also, I believe it's authentic Stella brewed in Belgium so it's supposed to be better than the wife-beater recipe we get over here.

These are all pretty good

Thornbridge - Jaipuir
Tiny Rebel - Cali Pale
Tiny Rebel - Clwb Tropica
Magic Rock -Hire Wire Grapfruit
Leffe - Ruby
Leffe - Royal Cascade
Hoegaarden - Rose
Goose Island - IPA

These are probably good based on the style / brewery but not ones I've had

Diekirch - Grand Cru
Thornbridge - AM:PM

Thanks.

I've had Jaipuir and though it was very good.

Goose IPA too but drank a bit too much of it and didn't realise how strong it was when drinking it so not sure if I'd fancy it again now.

It actually came with a keg of Corona which is in it now so once that and the 3 kegs of Stella have been polished off, (probably in just over a weeks time) I'll give whatever one of those are available/has the best price.

Stella Artois has been voted the number 1 beer brand in the UK, according to Lightspeed Research Limited

Image

Last month we asked you to vote for Briton's favourite beer, and it’s great to be sharing the results while we celebrate International Beer Day! Cheers to that, and thanks for beering with us while we counted the votes.

Stella Artois came out top in the poll, followed by Italian beer brand Peroni and finally Corona

So that's 4 wife beaters, 3 bottles of virus, and a pint of ponce. You're paying.
