He may need to make it to the next lot of Euro qualifying, where he'll be 37-38. They have at least one more game to play in this tournament, taking him to 179+, seven more qualifiers and friendlies this year for 186+, then probably 7-10 fixtures next year in the run up to the World Cup, plus the tournament itself.
I'd never bet against him though. Only Sergio Ramos has more caps for a European country, and if Portugal beat Belgium Ronaldo will equal him in the quarter-finals. He'll need to play till he's in his mid-40s to beat the current record holder though, a Malaysian named Soh Chin Ann who earned 221 caps between 1969 and 1984.
He should take a leaf out of Pele's book and count his youth team appearances.
And goals in friendlies. Ronaldo's scored 1800 goals and played in 2400 games or something insane like that.
Here's a wee sort-of Euros related question for you, but it's a bit convoluted. There are two international fixtures(that I'm aware of! There might be more) where, on a scoreboard like the one in the screenshot below, the abbreviation of the two teams will spell out the name of one of the countries, while the unused letters of both countries will spell out the other country. Can you name the two fixtures?
I don't know if this one's done the rounds on Twitter or anything, so if you've seen it before obviously don't ruin it for anyone who might not know and want to take a shot.
