Euro 2020: Italy win it; morons, encouraged by UK govt., racially abuse England's greatest team since '66.

Glad to be through and facing a top European team. Any of the big 3 will be nice.

Other than being organised I don't think we've shown much at all. 2 goals from that group is a pretty dismal return. We seem to have gone backwards from the World Cup which seems almost inexplicable. There's been little indication we can suddenly turn it on when faced with top opposition so expect we'll be fairly easily brushed aside by whoever we end up getting. If it's France I fear it'll be an absolute pasting.

France haven’t been devastating though, so far. Drawing against Hungary and a 1-0 win against Germany doesn’t scream “indestructible.” Same with Germany and Portugal, neither team looks unbeatable and if England turn up they’re more than capable of getting a result against any of those teams IMO.

First half was ok.

Second half was boring shite.

I'm quite glad, I always have trouble sleeping and that should be enough for me to fall fast asleep now.

I'm depressed but it won't last long as I was expecting it and I'm used to it. Hopefully we can qualify for the World Cup as we're in a group where we have a reasonable chance of finishing 2nd(we'd be guaranteed being drawn in the group of death though). Come on the Welsh.

I'm also hoping that England go quite far so as they keep Southgate as manager for the world Cup. I wouldn't want them to sack him and accidentally get a manager who can get the best out of a group of wonderful attacking players. I don't hate England but I don't want them to win it as I'd have to burn all my tvs and radios.

Try and keep chat in this thread to what’s actually going on in the games please, we don’t need any of this.

It is in relation to what’s going on. Scotland are going out the tournament as things stand.

To be fair the STV coverage of Scotland has somehow been even more cringeworthy than the England coverage normally is. Horrible scenes.

I thought tonight's coverage was pretty decent. Broony even managed to string sentences together.

Where are you watching? Broony( ) wasn’t on local STV coverage, and neither was McCoist( ). we had Rahman Bardwaj, Gordon Strachan, Stuart McCall and that really generic Ex-Scotland player I can’t even remember the name of on local coverage.

Commentators were Rory Hamilton(who Rangers fans apparently despise for being a massive, biased Celtic man) and…Kevin Gallacher, who was a wonderful player who I’ll always remember from when I was a bairn but is dog gooseberry fool as a commentator.

Poor Scotland, England match was boring, especially second half as both teams weren’t arsed.

Wow didn’t expect DML to turn into a tosser.

It’s his attitude that makes me go: Anyone But England.

Oh that's bizarre I managed to get ITV4 over here, but had just assumed it was a direct copy of STV.

McCoist was on absolute prime form tonight, saved the game for me. Love his optimism amongst the pish.

At one point our player, I don't remember who, strawberry floated up, completely missed the ball and nutmegged himself; Ally said "that was a perfect piece of play except he just missed the ball slightly", was pissing myself.

I think you've got to expect a bit of ribbing. It's the folk who openly gloat/ really seem to want us to fail that get my back up more.

It's terrible when the provinces don't want you to win but xenophobia is...strong. I've been shouted at in the street, had my money refused in shops and worse in England, in my hometown(!) because I sound like ah'm fae north ae the border like. "Filthy Scotch banana split," and all the rest of it, like I'm a dram of whisky. Don't start this conversation.

EDIT: In fairness, I think the last person who called me a Scotch banana split in England also barked at my (very English) dad like he was a dog and then ran off down the street so maybe there was more at play in that specific instance.
