As cora points out, the ABE crowd is always overblown. Comparing our rivalry to England - Germany is erroneous, though, as arguably the cultural and political dominance of our southern neighbours continues to an extent. It's not like we're basing it all from the battle of bannockburn.

Personally I've always found the way some people get irate at ABE Scots hilarious. It's the easiest most mundane troll ever and they get angry at Scottish fans not supporting England, or not reciprocating the support they may give to Scotland or another nation.

Besides it opened the door for EBS in 2016, which was itself kind of funny.

Interesting stat I just heard. Only one English born player has scored in the tournament so far.

I remember Andy Murray learning a really harsh lesson about it when he made a joke at a press conference aimed at Tim Henman and got negative news coverage for literally years afterwards, was so bizarre.

There are many different incidents: political, history and social issues why I could never support England.

They are our rivals. It doesn’t matter if you don’t view us as rivals, but it does matter to us Scots that we view England as rivals.

There are people to this day, fifteen years on, who still hate Andy Murray for doing ABE.

Properly weird losers the lot of them.

Probably much like how the Germans view the Dutch as their footballing rivals and don't really care for the English.

I think the reaction from English gammons shows that there are plenty of English people that care.

That was ridiculous. Murray made a joke back to them about supporting anyone playing England because Henman and the interviewer were making fun of Scotland for not qualifying. Everyone was laughing and it was completely in good spirits and it haunted Murray for years :fp:

Saka was great last night, he should be included in every starting line up in future.

Sad to see the Scots eliminated, i didn't see that match, but i suspect Croatia won because the Scottish supporters failed to sing The Proclaimers' 500 Miles song and so failed to give their team the necessary morale boost.

I thought my Arsenal bias was clouding my judgement with regards to Saka's quality compared to the other exciting youngsters England have to choose from, so it's really good to see him doing well both last night and in the friendly before. I hope for him he has a great tournament but I also selfishly want him to have some time off this summer as he's probably our best player.

I quite like Gary Neville’s points at times but damn if he wasn’t negative yesterday. Saying England basically aren’t better than France, Germany.. etc

I mean I’d agree in a sense but Christ a little optimism wouldn’t hurt. He did say if we played a certain way we could win but still…

We'd be much better if our defence knew how to pass in a meaningful way or were comfortable on the ball. They run forward, then stop at the half way line and pass backwards, or just awkwardly pass it back and forth between each other inviting un-needed pressure. I swear every time it went back to Pickford he stood still with the ball for about 20 seconds.

If England had Kante (or a Kante like player) then I'd give us half a chance of winning this given the attacking talent at our disposal. But we don't and so we're having to compensate by having 2 players do that job in Philips and Rice. Also, didn't Stones used to be quite decent on the ball? He hasn't shown it during these matches.

He's a pundit, it's not his job to be a cheerleader - he's paid to say what he thinks, not what he thinks people want to hear. If he thinks England are sub-par (which they are) then fair enough.

The player that worries me me most is Rice, when it comes to ball control. You just never know when the ball is going to randomly ping off him a few yards when he's got opponents very close to him. Unlike Grealish who keeps it glued to his feet.

Rice is decent in front of the defense, but he's going to need to be way more careful now England are going to start playing better teams.

UEFA tickets shop website is apparently offering Wembley tickets with the expanded capacity.

Priority access for those who had tickets and were cancelled due to the original reduction to 22,500 fans max capacity.
