Oh no. Birmingham was cheaper and more convenient for me. This is dissapointing, I'll have to seriously think about whether I'll be going next year.

Terrible decision. Birmingham was miles better and presumably a lot cheaper for them.

It's a week before MCM London Comic Con too, which is interesting to see if the gamers who go there might do this instead.

I last went a few years ago (2013 I believe) and I really enjoyed it. All the big publishers were in attendance and you could try out lots of upcoming games. They seem to have expanded over the years and now have extra events like after hours parties.

Best to go during the week than weekends mind, I bet they get rammed on a Saturday/Sunday

You have to be prepared to queue for a long time, but you get to try out a lot of cool upcoming games. It's generally very enjoyable.

What's it like if you don't really want to try the games? Is it just a case of trying games or are there other things going on at the booths?

I always enjoyed going when it was in London, gaming is such a big time that there is definitely a demand for it and attending people seemed to be happy. However the last two times there seemed to be way too many people and not enough to play. There were people queuing (all playing Nintendo DSs) for over an hour, repeatedly just for a two minute go on a game. I chose to watch them and not queue. I think it would also benefit by having hosted events across the course of the day.

Last time I went it was disorganised rubbish. That was about 5 years ago though.

They have developer panels as well (the year I went Kojima was hosting a panel but it filled up mega early so couldn’t get in)

I think you can go and have a great time even if you don’t want to try out the big games. They have indie sections as well so you could try them out and then just watch people try out the big games that have the large queues.
