Ukraine received 11.25 points on average from each of the other 39 countries public votes. Immense!

A year is a long way away. I imagine they might host it in Poland if they need to?

Eh, Ukraine’s entry wasn’t that good in my opinion. Obviously I can see why they’ve won but on a pure song ranking this was our best chance to win in years.

Basically the winners as Ukraine would have been nowhere near it without Putin. ;)

Ridiculous. The once proud integrity of the competition has been ruined.

Think that's an excellent showing. I actually thought Spain and Sweden's songs were better than ours.

Great result for us. Sam Ryder will go on to have some success in the music industry. The winning act will return home to defend their country and fight in a war. I hope the result brings some joy for those back home in Ukraine.

We should have won if it wasn't for the sympathy Ukraine votes

That's a bloody phenomenal result. Sam Ryder and his team should be massively proud of what they've achieved. Yeah, okay, Ukraine ran away, but they've got the UK from rock bottom
(if we weren't major donors it'd be worse) to second.

Trust UK to have the best song in the year someone else wins on the sympathy vote

Sam Ryder seems a lovely man though, good luck to him

And good luck to Ukraine hosting it next year, also we should cancel all military aid

Yeah I hope Ukraine are in a position to host it next year, if not hopefully they can just delay their turn at hosting it till the situation has improved enough in their country. Second is a cracking result for us considering how utterly woeful we’ve been for the past goodness knows how many years (probably since we last won it!) :toot:

On the other hand can you imagine how much the tories would have hijacked this over the next 12 months if we'd won
