I don't remember Sam Ryder singing about homophobic jokes and fascist votes.

Couldn't breathe at the end though.

Check. Mate.

I miss b-sides. Don't really exist anymore. Was awesome to buy a single and then find the b-side was banging too.

My mate moved to the UK from the middle east pwhen he was 18, about 20 years ago, and didn't even understand what they were.

You should have seen my face when I realised oasis singles had amazing bsides. I'd never bought a single by them as I just assumed it would be the main song and a few shitty remixes like other singles. I bought some might say in a virgin megastore once as I saw songs on the back that I didn't recognise. strawberry float it was amazing. Every single from the first 3 albums was like an EP.

Probably should have held onto some of that material though, eh Noel....

Yep, he poured all his songwriting talent into the first two albums and the b-sides. Plus he kept back his remaining best songs after that for the b-sides on the 3rd and 4th albums - it's ridiculous the number of album tracks which should have been replaced. Didn't always have the best judgement - he could have easily had 3 or 4 classic studio albums to his name instead of 2.

Perhaps he just assumed he'd carry on writing great songs then hit a brick wall.

Nothing from Noel's solo career has grabbed me. I know Liam has help to write, but I've enjoyed his last two more than anything his brother has done post Oasis. That still surprises me when I think about it.

As you were is excellent.

Always had mixed feelings about Oasis, as while a lot of the music was good, they always came across as total dicks.

First two albums (and Masterplan) are excellent.

After that it's more patchy. There are some great/good/decent songs but no classic albums and that goes for their solo careers as well.

You'd think the BBC would change their name if they really do hate everything British.

The European Broadcasting Union (EBU) and the BBC have confirmed that the 2023 Eurovision Song Contest will be hosted in the United Kingdom on behalf of this year's winning broadcaster, Ukraine's UA:PBC.

BBC to take on hosting duties with Contest to be held in United Kingdom in 2023
Host City bidding contest to begin this week
Ukraine to automatically qualify for the Grand Final along with 'Big 5' (which includes United Kingdom)
Representatives of UA: PBC will work with the BBC to develop Ukrainian elements of shows
Logo reflecting unique circumstances of staging to be revealed later

In an EBU press release published earlier, it was announced that this decision had been made following the exploration of hosting the Contest in Ukraine, and regrettably concluding that for safety and security reasons this was not possible.

As a result of those discussions, the BBC, as runner up in the 2022 Contest, was invited by the EBU to act as Host Broadcaster for the 67th Eurovision Song Contest.

Ukraine, as the winning country in 2022, will automatically qualify for the Grand Final of the upcoming Contest along with the so-called 'Big 5' (those countries that financially contribute the most towards the Contest: France, Germany, Italy, Spain and the United Kingdom).

The UK hosted in 1960, 1963, 1968, 1972, 1974, 1977, 1982, 1998 and will now host in 2023.

It's been a while, but hardly once in a lifetime ;)

Host city? Here in Sheffield we have a nice big arena and are twinned with Donetsk so it would be a nice show of solidarity. It’s also quite central to the rest of the UK and therefore easier to visit than somewhere down south. It’s also a city with incredible musical pedigree.

Anywhere but London would be good.

I think Bristol is going for it. There's currently no suitable arena in Bristol though
