I've never watched the build up. Only ever the final night.

Ruins the surprise innit.

Yeah, I like to just hear the entries in the final... it heightens the impact :toot: .

This.

Love the finals for a pissup and laughing hard at the gooseberry fool ones, although they're a bit too professional these days so it's not as entertaining.

Yeah, no point watching the final once you've seen all the songs in the semis. Will watch the final and be furious when another objectively shite song wins. Still can't even make it through a minute of that Toy tune :dread: Crazy Frog levels of awful.

Iceland deserved to go through, when they first started i wasn't too sure, but by the end i loved it.

Portugal deserved the boot though, it really was dreadful.

The second semi was pretty decent last night, most of my favourites made it through (Azerbaijan/Norway/Netherlands).

I didn't even know there were semis for this, it's all about the main night for me!

My wife almost had a fight in a hospital last night thanks to Eurovision. It’s worse than football for the trouble it causes. :x

I just listened to a few countries that are normally pretty good for putting out that weird folk-techno stuff, but they've all gone for ballads this year. So I checked out Iceland because you mentioned it and what the hell.

This is like that version of Relax by Frankie Goes to Hollywood that never aired on TV here...

It’s not as funny/impressive as I made it sound. ;)

My wife loves Eurovision and her brother loves teasing her. She was visiting at a hospital with her brother and her brother started winding her up about Eurovision. She reacted and they ended up having a full blown argument, causing one old lady to ask if they were ok.

As a rule I don't watch Eurovision and don’t really understand how it all works but one year myself and my then flat mate (who used to be a regular round here but now not so much) decided we’d get wasted watch the entire show and spam telephone votes for Jedward

We're just fighting about eurovision!

Old lady = :simper:

We used to have a good live chat on here years ago. Although it was very fanny-centric... :shifty:
