Event: GRcade Animal Crossing island visit (Event completed!)

Inspired by kazanova_Frankenstein, we are looking to hold an incredibly special event for Animal Crossing New Horizons players:

GRcade Animal Crossing Island Visit

The event will take place throughout these days:

> Friday 15 January
> Saturday 16 January
> Sunday 17 January

The idea is that players will open up their islands for access during specified time slots so that other players can visit and enjoy checking out the islands. Explore and have fun! No wrecking!

If you are keen to take part, please post the following information in this thread

1) Your Switch username and island name

2) Up to three time slots (each one being a one-hour slot; for example, "Saturday 10am to 11am" or "Friday 8pm to 9pm") that you plan to open access to your island

3) Either:

a) Your Nintendo ID name and friend code (so that other players can become friends with you on Switch prior to the event)

and/or

b) Indicate that you will use a Dodo code to allow access to your island (and post it here in the thread just prior to your island being open)

4) EDIT: NEW OPTION! You may also note your island's "Dream Code" which will enable people to pop by your island in dream form; i.e. whenever they want to, if they can't join in at the times you have your island open.

I will maintain the log of the names, islands and times in this opening post.

Additional information

> You will need to be a Nintendo Online subscriber to visit or to have visitors
> Remember that there is a maximum of eight players on an island at any one time; if tech issues arise, you may be kicked off and it could be worth trying again a little bit later
> Don't use your in-game phone too much whilst visiting;it stops other players arriving and leaving!
> Don't damage or change anything on an island that you visit! This can only be done if you are "best friends" in-game; please respect the islands!
> If you're playing in portable mode, remember to charge up your Switch beforehand :-)

Okay, I'll kick it off:

> ID/friend code/island: jawatwo / SW-1269-1198-9402 / jawabit
> Friday 8pm to 9pm
> Saturday 2pm to 3pm

Note: It doesn't matter too much if folks select any of the same time slots; people can then have options to get around the "max eight players" limit.

Edit: I've now gotta buy a Nintendo Online sub, too!

I feel like i should fire the game up for the first time in 7 months or so on the day and have people help clear up all the litter that must have amassed (i really have not checked to see what state it is in, but it cant be good).

Replying so the thread is saved to your posts, but I don't have a planned date as of yet. However, it'll be fun to come over to everyone who posts for a bit of an explore.

Event update!

When submitting your details, if you wish to you can also specify your island's "Dream Code" which will enable people to pop by your island in dream form; i.e. whenever they want to, if they can't join in at the times you have your island open.

Just been preparing my island for this as I think it's one of the lesser known places on here, even amongst the most active players. It won't be as good as it can, and may eventually be once I've amassed quite a few more choice pieces, though it's likely that nobody here has come across everything they need either.

Undecided on whether to go the Dream Address route or not, but I'll be sure let you know by Friday, Jawa.

Hey jawa, I'm afraid I can't commit to a timeslot as I won't know for sure if I'm able to host until the moment presents itself. But if I'm online during any of these event times I will try to visit the hosting islands, and my dream code is DA-6292-1621-7914 if anyone would like to visit my island.

I'll definitely be visiting anyone who is open on Saturday evening after 6pm so I can bump up my KK concert attendances :shifty:

I'm thinking of using my Friday streaming slot on the GRcade channel to promote this by opening up for the two hours I'm live. Showing a bit more community by hanging out on Halesowen. Anyone not okay with that?

Rula, this sounds great and I'm well up for visiting Halesowen on Friday night! What time will you open the gates?

The gates to Halesowen will be open at 20:00 (8pm) upto 22:00 (10pm).

Our Island Visit event starts tomorrow!

We have Tsunade launching the show at 17:00 so please pop by and visit Chaos Island. Following this, DarkRula will be opening his island at 20:00.
