Why do people buy these over some of the handheld devices that emulate games? I don’t understand why people want the buy the cartridges for games that you can emulate so easily

Glad I’ve got the EXP. I’m really not keen on the grey/cyan colour scheme of the EXP-R.

They also announced earlier in the week that they have a new range of larger-capacity carts on the way (at a slightly increased price) to accommodate more games that were originally CD-based. And the next pair of carts, out soon, includes their first 64-bit game - Glover!

Some folk like to have a physical cart, a box and a colour manual, which the Evercade games offer. Others may prefer to, where possible, pay for the games rather than just downloading a set of ROMs. It's just an option for people.

I recall watching a vid on YouTube that suggested that Evercade carts are actually just SD cards that Blaze have saved the games onto; rather than being a dedicated cart. I'm not sure if this was true,but, if so, I'm guessing that they're just gonna use larger capacity SD cards. I'm hoping it was "fake news" as SD cards do eventually stop working.

It is great to see that some 64-bit system games could be coming to Evercade!

I got one of the EXP units back in January with some money for my Birthday.

Mainly I wanted it for the remastered Duke Nukem 1 & 2 which are still exclusive to the system. Remasters are really solid as well.
I think some people forget that there were two pretty good platform shooters before 3D took over and they've done a great job modernising it.
It has DK3D on the same cart, but it's a pretty shonky port. The other Duke Nukem cart you can get has some of the other platformers that came out on PS1 and stuff.

It came wth the Irem cart as well which is fantastic. Great version of R-Type and some other cool games.

AND it comes with a load of Capcom games built in.
Mostly arcade stuff but Mega Man X is part of the bundle.

Great wee machine, but it doesn't do much other handhelds can't these days.
But as a Retro do-dah it's great. The carts are well made with nice slips and manuals.
It's a nice way to support the retro market.

The cartridge that is packed in with the two new hardware packs has just been announced, and it’s a belter!

(That’s the original games, not the new versions.)
