The MarioKart highlight reels are good, shame you can't amend the camera angles and such though.

Thought I’d get my F2 career underway, my goodness are these cars rear happy :dread: even with low revs, 3rd bear coming out of T1 in Bahrain and it still wants to spin! Reckon I’ll just be focusing on the races in this series, thank goodness for flashbacks

Edit, won my first F2 race, after far too many flashbacks :fp:

Think I’m going to have to try and find some good controller settings, it’s far too spin happy right now

I hate the chicane on the Mistral straight at Paul Ricard, i hate it i hate it i hate it!

It's just so sodding hard to see! Plus there are fake chicanes along there to catch you out!

My Team - Race 2 - Bahrain GP

Qualifying

I really sruggled to get in to a groove with this track, qnd my car feels weakest in slow corners, with heavy understeer and soggy braking which i just couldnt dial out over the 3 practise sessions. I was on for a slightly better time on my final lap but spun on the last corner leaving me a disappointing 15th.

Race - 14 laps

I had a brilliant start, sneaking up the outside in to turn 1 and slotting in behind Sainz leaving me in 10th at the end of the lap. The aforementioned lack of pace meant it was now a case of trying to hold position until the pit stops, then try to gain a place or two. I got really close to Sainz on lap 4, but made a mistake in a slow corner allowing the two Renaults behind me to close in. A mistake on the next lap in a slow corner allowed them to pass leaving me 12th.

After my pit stop I was 16th, behind Ricciardo and Sainz, who would also have Ocon join them in front of me once the stops finished, leaving me 11th, and too slow to catch anyone. Then on lap 12, the yellow flags came out, a car was retiring, and it was leclerc. Now in 10th and the final points scoring place, it was a battle to hold Perez off for two laps who was swarming all over me. He got past later that lap, but I managed to repass on the next corner.

On more point 8-)

Anyone else find the braking in this absolute dog gooseberry fool? Feels like there's no real feedback.

Not really, but in MyTeam so would just blame my poor car. Up to Dutch GP, have had to raise the difficulty up to 90 now as I've passed the "practice times are too hard bit" from Oz and now I'm punching too far above my weight. May even need to raise it further as quali at Zandvoort was 7th.

Having said that, my race pace is dire compared to my quali performance, only 4pts so far, all from Bahrain.

I'm on 90 and it feels to be the right difficulty for the stage my team is at. Just did Hanoi, which is another crap car park shitfest of a track. Could only manage a 12th place finish there.

I am not looking forward to Hanoi :dread:

Hopefully I’ll get Bahrain done in my team over the next couple of days, been busy getting Xenoblade finished off to spend any real time with this.

Hard to say on a pad  still looking forward to getting a wheel later in the year and seeing how I fare back on a wheel after 5 to 6 years of solely using a pad.

Yeah, Hanoi is not a good track.

Zandvoort's fun though.

Finally had chance to get back on this, round 2 in Bahrain in my team, I’ve shamefully regressed to my prior tactics, lowering the difficulty in the practice sessions so I don’t only complete the track acclimatisation one :shifty: Only dropped it to 75 from 85 but I think each ‘10’ on the difficulty makes about a 1 second difference which helps massively with the quick practice program times.

I reckon between My Team and the traditional career mode this alone will satisfy my racing fix till Forza Motorsport 8 comes out.

In my game, Red Bull sacked Verstappen and Albon, and hired Ricciardo and Raikkonen.

Kimi has been really slow in that car too.

Max meanwhile is driving a Racing Point, and finished 2nd at the last event.

Shock result of 7th round Bahrain! Started on the mediums, got lucky with my stop as the safety car had just come out as Albon retired from the race, came back out in 12th on soft tyres while everyone else was on mediums. Might be my only points for a while so I’m happy with that!

Now onto Vietnam........ Actually I’ll do some more F2 first

Has anyone else found that some of their team upgrade purchases have not actually been delivered? Several of mine passed their delivery date and nothing happened.

Looks to be a definite bug.

Yet to have anything delivered parts or factory wise, I’ll update when I do, sounds a little annoying though! Have you reported it?

They won't, which sucks balls tbh.

F1® 2020 has accurately recreated the original 2020 season and includes both Hanoi Circuit and Circuit Zandvoort. Unfortunately, it is not possible to add new circuits to the revised 2020 season. The latest car liveries and team colours, including Mercedes AMG Petronas, will be added soon as a digital update.

They could if they really wanted to, some tracks wouldn’t need starting from scratch either, not sure about other tracks but Project CARS has Imola I think? Probably Nurburgring as well.

Some of their older F1 games also had Nurburgring in them.

Only mentioned Project CARS as I recall them saying they scanned every track they put in, not sure if Codemasters did that in the past, or if they still don’t bother now.
