F1 2020 - Codemasters - PC / PS4 / Xbox One / Stadia - Schumacher edition out now!

This year's F1 game is upon us. I've skipped these for a good few years now as bit much changes year on year, but this year has some substantial additions:

2 new tracks - Circuit Zandvoort and Hanoi Street Circuit. (Zandvoort is a personal favourite of mine)

Split screen local multiplayer!

Race a full F2 season and see if you havr what it takes to break in to F1.

My Team - This is a big one, you can now create, manage and run your own F1 team within the 2020 season. You recruit a team mate from either F1 or F2, build a facility, design and develop a car, and so on. How in depth this is remains to be seen, but its probably the feature I'm looking forward to the most.

Schumacher edition - includes the Jordan 191, Benetton B194, Benetton B195 and the Ferrari F1-2000. Also classic challenges are included (beat senna's suzuka qualifying time in the mp4/4 and so on).

If you're interested, when youve made a team, I'll add your teams to the OP, and if we have enough interest I'll organise a time trial for each race weekend running parallel to the real race. I don't think cross play is supported.

As always I’ll be jumping into a British Grand Prix just to try and find my feet again, will probably take a bit of time to find a good AI difficultly for when I start a career and a my team career. I’m tempted to hold off starting either of the careers till they’ve put out a bit of a performance patch though, from the footage I’ve seen on YouTube Ferrari are still right up there when that’s clearly not the case.

Do these games have commentary? Used to love Murray Walker on the Sony versions.

Not that I'm aware of. They do have the sky tv build up presentation with the music, croft, map, track info etc.

I think the overall presentation of the game is very good now, it’d be neat if they did have a bit of commentary to throw in throughout the race, even if its just kind of in the background (like the fans would hear at a race, over the PA), even if it just says “what an overtake by Hamilton for the lead” or something akin to that, it’d probably be harder to do it for the full race like they do with FIFA.

Done a couple of races so far, difficulty wise seems to be where I left off (90, just on the master difficulty), my problem with a pad has always been the consistency of lap times rather than half decent times, I found a wheel helped in that regard.

Absolutely loving it already though, just doing Grand Prix for now, done one as Ferrari, Renault, McLaren and Red Bull. Really liked the Renault actually.

Can you post straight from an Xbox? I’ve left sorting some stuff in the garage for a bit to grab a couple of hours on it :lol:

You can get a maximum of two minutes recorded at a time, which should auto upload to Live. As soon as it's there, anyone who follows you should see it, otherwise you can use Xbox Clips to search for the particular clip for people to look at.

I'm pretty sure you don't. Microsoft are quite good when it comes to stuff like that.

How do you save it? Will quickly do a lap with a car/track combo if anyone wants to see? Will be far from perfect mind :lol:

As I say, the clip will automatically upload to Live, so just press the Xbox button, followed by select (I don't remember what modern names they attached to the buttons), and it should give you the option of how long you want the clip to be. Once that's selected, it will automatically save the clip and start the upload as it takes you back to the game, then tell you once it has uploaded.

This is going to need a lot of practice! There seems to be loads of understeer in the slow speed stuff, keeps catching me out!

Edit, I’m not sure if it’s just me but the track limits seem really strict in this years game, quite often I thought I was safe just to have it invalidated.

I want this, but i don't know if i can afford it yet.
