I suspect it’d be doable on the PC version, all the other versions have been modded anyway.

Just set up my team anyway, was going to revive BAR Honda but as Honda is not allowed it’s going to be Jaguar Racing F1 (using a Honda power unit of course )

Shame the pc version doesn't allow for more in depth livery and logo creation.

The livery/logo selection on the whole is pretty poor isn’t it? I wish they’d have loads more preset colours as well rather than the 3 sliders we have, or shock horror have both options!

How do I redeem to podium pass anyway? Not sure if it because it won’t connect to the servers but I can’t seem to see how to?

Just started the game now, don't have a screenshot i can show, but my car looks like a pound shop Brawn (i've chosen the name Pacific Racing after the 90's F1 backmarker team).

For Australia, i set the AI cars to 40 as it's been years since i last played and so didn't want to be last all the time. Ended up 5th on the grid and finished 4th (my team mate De Vries came home 10th).

Will increase the AI difficulty for Bahrain as it always takes a few attempts to get the settings as i want them.

Love the gameplay though, a lot of progress has been made since the 2017 game.

Why is the PC version of this £30 cheaper?

I actually have no idea, console versions always seem to be more expensive for the most part, I’ve just accepted that’s how it is?

It is a great improvement over 2017, I’ve chosen Hubert as my teammate, didn’t even realise they’d included him in the game after his passing last year.

Before diving into My Team, I took to a few singe races. Australia I came in last (though to be fair that was because I hadn't looked at the controls so was trying to gear up with X, then decided not to restart after I'd changed the controls to how I want them), Britain I came I last, but I could at least see the back of the back, and Monaco is so tight and technical that I crashed on the first lap, used the rewind to tackle the corner again, then crashed on the very next corner. When I did dive into My Team, I failed every objective in free practice bar the tyre management one - which I just about managed to complete.

It's been a very long time since I last played an F1 game, so it's to be expected. I'm hoping I can do better in qualifying and the race.

It depends how deep you want to get into texture modifications, there are tools that have been around for years that crack open Codemasters' Ego Engine games and let you tweak any texture in the game. and lots of stuff on racedepartment and other sites for the mods people have made using them.

EDIT people are doing it already:

New Team logos
Sets of realistic sponsor boards for each track

Why does it feel like there is still a long running glitch with free practice program times in this years game? I’ve decided to start it on AI 85 and I’m just ahead of my teammate by a couple of tenths, yet when I do anything but the track acclimatisation my times are well down on the times needed to pass/exceed the objectives? Only just scraped through the race sim one and that was attempting to go for it

Tyre one has always been a pain on a pad, especially round Australia.

Edit, in FP3 for example, I finished the session 12th with a soft tyre run, yet that was over a second away from what my team was expecting. I know on 2017 I kind of cheated the system in the first season by lowering the difficulty for the practice so I could get more resource points before upping it to normal (was playing on 90 on 2017) for qualifying and the race. Wonder if this was still evident in the 2018/19 versions of the game.

Edit, qualified 15th for the first race, will leave it at this difficulty for now and may knock it up a few notches after a few rounds.

Final edit, finished 11th in my first race, couple of seconds away from a point.

Cranked up the AI to 50, and i won the Bahrain GP (that said, i always seem to go well there in all the F1 games). Vietnam next however, and i will again increase the AI difficulty, and because this is a new circuit, i suspect this will be when i come crashing back down the order.

I’ve looked into the normal career mode as well, you can do full F2 seasons! You also choose a young driver programme to get signed onto as well. Reckon I’ll be doing that alongside my My Team season.

Bahrain - Rebranded to Feisar, got pole, purple lap, speed trap and won the race. Time to up the difficulty.

Definitely! I don’t know when I’ll get chance to do my second race, I have got some upgrades in the pipeline, can’t remember what date they should be done for though.

Another thing I’ve noticed in the F2 career mode is that you can still do practice programmes? I’m going to restart mine and just have the races with one shot qualifying as I don’t really see the point of doing the practice programmes as they’re spec cars, it’s not like you need resource points like in the F1 to upgrade your car, if I feel I need any practice I’ll just do a few laps round the track in Grand Prix mode.

Spent a whole day working on the livery for my team. In the end realises that less is more so basically gone for a teal with a hint of gold, and then lots of room for lovely sponsors. Looks good with all the sponsors in MP trim, but only done Aus in MyTeam so got one sponsor. Oh, and wanted a gold with teal highlight for my team branding but then the main team colour is your team colour on the scoreboards so had to switch team branding. Small detail. Biggest quality of life amendment would be to have a "copy colour" for the liveries.

The car is an absolute dog to drive though. Quali in 19th, lost my win lap 1, got to the back of Latifi by the last lap and ended 21st. Playing on 85 (80 in practice). When I play online with my mate on 2017, I usually play at 70 but I'm sure I'd just get pole with that.

Hanoi can get strawberry floated.

Last place again. The hairpin at the end of the long straight killed my front wing like 10 times across all sessions. I was following the racing line no problem, braking at the right time, but, seemingly at random, I'd just lose all ability to steer the car and have no choice but to go into the barrier head on at 5mph. Which isn't much of an impact but it's enough to damage the wing to the point that my understeering problem would just pile up.

Also, I upped the AI to Hard (about 60, maybe?) and I've found they just drive like strawberry floating assholes. Constantly bumping me when I'm on the line and there's plenty of room to avoid me.

Sounds Hanoiing. Post some pictures of your teams everyone and I'll add them to the OP.

Not actually sure how i can do that from the PS4, it used to be possible to post a screenshot to facebook but now, unless i upload a video (which seems unnecessary at the moment) or take a photo of the TV, there doesn't seem to be a way to do it.

Oh and Zandvoort is quite the rollercoaster, overtaking is really hard though.

I was unable to retain De Vries as my second driver as i didn't have the cash to outbid the rival teams.

In the end he was snapped up by Alfa who promptly sacked Kimi Raikkonen, and i ended up hiring Mick Schumacher instead.

Ive not managed to get any more time on this yet so I have nothing to report. I was going to Post a video of each race, but the 20 minute limit from the geeforce thing neatly misses the opening couple of laps, rendering it a bit pointless.
