It’s only nearing 12GB for the Series X thankfully! Looking forward to trying out Portimao later today.

Portimao is such a good track, only did a couple of poor laps without the racing line (big mistake considering I’ve never driven the track before ) before jumping back into Braking Point which I’m nearing the end of. My wheel feels decent after a couple of hours game time with it, just a bit better overall a but still like in the 2020 game so will need to increase most of the FFB strengths when I try it later.

Can Portimao be added to the season on my team? I do hope that is possible.

I think it’s added automatically for full seasons, or you can choose to add it if you’re choosing which races.

Put a couple more hours into this today, looked up what achievements there was for F2 and as there was only 1 I decided just to restart my career and jump straight into F1 with Aston Martin :toot: Not sure if it’s in this years game but couldn’t see where you could disable driver moves within career mode which I was going to disable this time as I’ve seen a lot of less than realistic moves both mid and between seasons

Yeh the mid seasons move stuff is really daft.

In my game, Antonio Giovinazzi is a Mercedes driver.

I just don’t get why they can’t be turned off in this years game  if they have to be on at least make them semi realistic in driver career? Guess the idea of My Team is that it’s slightly bonkers anyway (as how many people who own a team are going to be the lead driver? We don’t even get any new teams these days!) so it works slightly better in that.

Going to get my first career race done on this, got the AI set to 85 as I’ve read they’re a bit up and down and managed to qualify my Aston Martin in 6th position, going to see how the first 3 races pan out before moving it up a bit, tried to get through Q2 on the mediums so I could do a one stop but had to switch to the softs. Only minor issue I’ve had so far at this very early stage in career mode is power unit wear, after 3 practice sessions and one full qualifying my first power unit is at 8% wear, something I’m in theory only meant to use 3 of for the season, definitely at least a 4th will be needed. Sure in 2020 I ended up using a 5th too

Edit, that’s the first race over, started 6th and finished 7th on a 2 stop which the majority of the grid did, only a single driver made the 1 stop work and that was Tsunoda

Edit, I’m going to need a lot of practice at Portimao, going to be one of those hard but very satisfying tracks to master :toot: will probably do a couple of 50% races before even touching the career mode again!

Just done Portimau. One of the best tracks in the game that, lots of overtaking opportunity and very quick.

It really is great and could easily become one of my favourites too, think I’ll have to switch camera view to make it easier to learn though, in the cockpit view you’re constantly up and down

Edit, Despite saying otherwise I’ve now started a My Team mode as well, called my team Porsche and signed Christian Lundgaard as my teammate with a Mercedes engine in the back. I’ve mainly started it as with how many crazy driver transfers I’ve seen happen it at least seems ever so slightly more realistic in My Team mode rather than career so may as well not get to worried about Mazepin getting the Mercedes seat or similar

One thing I’m not enjoying about the new practice targets is the stick to the racing line one, as it seems very hit or miss considering you’re apparently allowed within 2 metres of it

Will be doing my first qualifying session for My Team this afternoon, I’m not expecting to get to Q3, I’ll be doing well to get to Q2! Although the car doesn’t start off too bad really, above the back 3 teams of Haas, Williams and Alfa Romeo at least. One good thing about the My Team car is that it has the maximum potential as well, so even when all the teams are maxed out you’ll still be at the front end of the grid.

Edit, qualified 17th (thought I’d just edge through to Q2 with the one run!) and finished the race in 8th after doing one stop, got lucky as Perez had a DNF which gave me an extra couple of points. Might just carry on with the My Team career for now, as I’m not going to be doing the full 10 seasons I’ve got the team acclaim and resources set to increased rather than default, don’t want to be languishing near the rear for a couple of seasons, although once you’ve got the facilities maxed out money probably isn’t an issue at all, even if you have Hamilton on your team.

Have finally been able to race at Portimao, and it's certainly a tricky one to learn as a lot of the corners are uphill and with blind entries which can make it hard to get the right braking point.

Love the rollercoaster nature of it though, and that final turn is mighty.

In news that’ll hugely please Vermilion, the Imola update is out today :toot: Hopefully he can get it downloaded in one go!

Alongside sponsor changes/additions and the one off Red Bull livery we saw at Turkey this weekend.
