The option is still there, you select start a new driver career, can then select either skip to F1 or start in F2.

New driver only then? If you're a teamboss you can't do the F2 start?

No it’s only for a driver career.

Sorry to quote an old post, but this is 60% off as of the other day, until early January.
£23.99 for standard version. Might be my biting point...

Wife asked me what I wanted for Christmas and I ended up picking this as I've really got into watching the F1 again this year and heard it was quite good.
Is it beginner friendly? This was my last F1 game....

Absolutely.
I've never really enjoyed F1 games before now, never really gelled with them.
However this is great. The default assists are good for getting you used to the cars etc.
Tried Monaco with zero assists the other day
I didn't last very long at all

Good to hear! Is it a case of starting with everything on and then removing stuff as you get better?

That's what I've done yeah, I've not done proper racing games in ages so wanted to ease myself in.
But you can also increase or decrease the AI difficulty as well, so you could for example, remove some of the assists, but lower the AI difficulty to ease you into playing with assists off etc

My first F1 game
didn’t get into the sport for a lot longer but loved playing this gem of a game!
F1 2021 is very beginner friendly so you’ll be good on that front as well.

Thought I'd dip my toe into Braking point over the last few evenings, I was expecting it to be proper gooseberry fool, but I really enjoyed it!
I quite liked having objectives and different things to do. Made it more enjoyable in a way.
Some of the acting is a bit gooseberry fool, and Devon Butler is colossal prick lol

Did you get a wheel in the end?

Not yet. The missus says as long as it's not more than £100 (lol) she doesn't mind, so I'm skulking on eBay most days for a 2nd hand TMX or G920..
Second hand prices have gone a bit loopy though because the stock of new ones is pretty slim pickings at the moment it seems.

Ended up with a TMX on eBay for just over £120. Happy with that.
Now to see if I can sneak in a Playseat Challenge, Albear PS3 style.

With a wheel something like the Playseat Challenge is almost essential! It feels so much fun jumping into it to have a blast on whatever racing game you’re playing.
