Just finished chapter 7. This is becoming, despite its huge performance issues on PS4, one of my favourite games on the system. Chapter 6 was straight outta Resident Evil 4.

I quit playing earlier just the start of chapter 9. That boxhead banana split in chapter 7 :dread: Was chapter 8 supposed to be some kin of comedy chapter or something? It was like 5 minutes long and those miniature-people biting at my heels were the most difficult part of it.

I think I'll definitely jump straight into a NG+. As you said, now that I'm familiar with the mechanics and the controls the earlier levels will be a blast.

Chapter 11 was straight outta the end of Resident Evil 4, right down to the construction setting and guys with chainguns appearing from behind metal doors. Mikami certainly knows what he likes, doesn't he? I got an amazing wave of deja vu while playing the whole chapter. Also, similarly to Resi 4, the game has pretty much thrown any aspect of survival horror out the window in favour of balls-out action. Not that there's anything wrong with it but still. It's like he wanted to make Resident Evil 4 again.

I think I'm really close to the end now. It's been an amazing ride.

Picked this up in Xbox Ones sale of the week with all the DLC for €30. Gonna play it tomorrow for Haloween and all, hope to god I'm not too scared. Talks of a woman spider thing has me freaked out thinking about it. :fp:

For me a lot of the survival horror elements came from the one hit kill sections. That chapter where you visit the mansion, and it feels like they're firmly settling into Resident Evil territory, only for the screen to turn blue every ten minutes for you to be chased by Ruvik who teleports and will one hit kill you, on top of all the action that happens in that chapter anyway (the bomb placement in that chapter a hindrance to blindly running away, Mikami being a sadistic bastard!). I also found item management very much in keeping with survival horror. Although I guess it would depend on which difficulty you played it, and how accurate you were, which encounters you were able to avoid to tackle stealthily. Occasionally I would die and seem to get more ammo drops too, and I would wonder if it was coincidence or part of the design.

I love this game so much. I hope we get a sequel.

Never posted my updated about the end game but I did love it. I traded it in for MGS3 unfortunately, so I never got to do the 2nd playthrough that I wanted. One day...

The last boss is absolutely insane.

I played it till halfway (I think) through chapter 2 and I love it! I'm annoyed at myself for not picking this up on release! So glad I got it so cheap though.

Got round to starting this yesterday, played for over 5 hours and really am enjoying it apart from the seriously bad framerate. I'd bought the season pass a couple of months back in a sale so got the DLC to go through too.

I keep seeing this for 9 quid and I am intrigued by it. Mainly because of who was involved in making it. Is it worth a pick up?

For a survival horror game, I really struggled with it (and I don't know why?) but what I've heard from the guys in GR, once you get to chapter six, this game comes into it's own! Unfortunately, I didn't get that far!! :fp:

For nine squid, I'd say yes, go for it.

This is a great game. I was enjoying it much earlier than chapter 6. Was a bit frustrated in the first chapter (when the game properly starts), but was great from then on.

Definitely some frustrating bits! But once you've completed the game you can play through it again with all your abilities and the weapons you have amassed. Payback time. 8-)

It's a pretty good game. My advice: buy all the DLC (three packs) and before you play the main game play all of 'The Assignment' and to about halfway through 'The Consequence', then start the main game campaign. Things will make a lot more sense to you that way. The third DLC is just a horde mode - nice but pretty arcadey and nothing to do with the main story.

I've only played the whole game because I used a cheat engine - it was just too frustrating and difficult for me, otherwise. But I liked it all - typically bonkers, but the DLCs do help to contextualise much of what seems nonsensical in the main campaign.

Bought the Limited Edition of this for 8 quid new in GAME. Says "Includes The Fighting Chance Pack" on the box, whatever that is.

Edit: PS3 version, that is.

I picked this up ages ago and stopped at chapter 3, just dull and not fun. Just started trying again and this time it's starting to click after chapter 3, and into chapter 4.

I'm finding that with a guide to help out and show me where weapons are, it's much better. I'm enjoying it now.
