Is the whole game alike this or does it become more of a gun-a-thon later?

IIRC you’ve got about 2-4 hours of franticly tense horror/escape/survival and then about 6 hours of more action horror RE4 style as you’ve geared up.

Fuuuuck.

I ain't gonna make it :dread:

So I put down the evil within 2 or 3 times, but the message was ‘push through’. Within the next few hours the game turns and it is utterly incredible from there on out. Keep at it.

Someone else might be better to advise just how long and how much you need to push through, who has played it more recently than me.

Hopefully I ain't spoiling a 5 or 6 Yr old game here. I'm very early on when being first pursued. Have made it to an area and hid in a locker whilst madman killer guy rampages around and he bursts through a wall or something to open up a small area with another locker. I've tried to find out where to go but he sees me whilst I'm looking for the way out.

Cue gruesome death!

I don't think I'm going to last playing this. Certainly not without first watching a run through which kinda spoils the whole idea I guess

Once he’s had a good look around (while you’re in the locker), he’ll wander off. Once it’s quiet, CROUCH, and make your way towards him. He’ll have his back to you, so hide out of sight and use one of the bottles laying around to draw his attention away from the direction you want to go. Then, once he’s behind you, leg it.

He’ll immediately give chase, but just keep running and you’ll make it.

Please don’t give up, this game is amazing and the sequel is even better!

It turns into an incredible game late on, I remember struggling. Waiting for 2 to land on Gamepass.

This is one of the games I'm holding off on until I get a Series X.

Looks amazing on PS4 Pro, like it was meant to be, with none of the issues from my first time around.

2 is an incredible game - there’s still ‘an intro‘ but you’re into the meat much quicker.

And what juicy succulent meat it is

As this month’s GamePass challenges include kill 3 enemies in this game I thought I’d try one more time. I finally managed to get past the prologue or whatever and now into the chapter where strawberry float knows what’s going on asI keep getting transported between a hospital / cell and some woodland with some cannibals via a magic mirror

I’ll see how long I last!

I started this too today because of the Game Pass quests.

Agree it's quite slow to get going and some of the stealth sections are not really my cup of tea but I kept at it and think I will stick with it, up to Chapter 3 now I think.

This was one of the first games I bought when I got my One nearly 6 years ago!

I was about to ran out of ammo at the section where you have to fight TWO safe heads. The area before that is a bastard.

It was soul crushing experience as it means I have to restart the game as it’s impossible for me to beat the safe heads with just a handful of ammo.

This game is bastard hard. So I just gave up at that point and never went back.

Pro tip: use multiple saves. I didn’t do that.

I do this on all games I can. Isn’t that just standard?

Well I just overwrite the first save a lot in most of the games I play.

Lessons have been learned.

Really wish we'd get another game, that second game was outstanding.
